Unlike say {{vfd}}, {{NPOV}} is not meant to be copied, but used by reference (so use {{NPOV}}, not {{subst:NPOV}}). Rl 21:43, 10 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

You might want to rename this photo, as it is a very generic name and by default of another previous photo of a fern plant also using this name it is showing up in several other articles. someing liuke Fern rock yards.jpg would work well. Also tag you image, see WP:ICT, or else it will eventually be deleted. --Boothy443 | comhrÚ 06:18, 2 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

  • Well considering you can't move the image, i would just reupload it under a different name, and then change it in the article that you want it to be on, then the other image i would put a speedy delete request, something like db|new name so that the dupe image can be taken off, dont forget to tag the new image when you, or after, upload it as well as any other previous images. --Boothy443 | comhrÚ 06:33, 2 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Strawberrymansion.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 18:48, 24 September 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. –Dream out loud (talk) 18:48, 24 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Request for Usurpation[edit]

Hello, Thoth. A request has been made at Wikipedia:Changing username/Usurpations to usurp, or "take over", your username because you have not used it to edit, and another user would like to use it to edit. Wikipedia:Changing username/Usurpations says that any unused username may be usurped if the user is given seven days notice to object and does not do so.

If you have an email set in your preferences, you should be getting an email from a bureaucrat or changing username clerk explaining how to consent or object to this process.

If you do not object to being renamed to a new username in order for another user to utilize the name you currently have, please log in and post a reply here saying so (you may also tell us what username you would like to be renamed to, or we will provide you with a generic one).

If you do nothing: the request will be filled after seven days, and your account will be moved to a generic username. You may request that it be moved to a new username of your choice at any time.

If you object to being renamed: please log in and make an edit to this page clearly stating that you object to usurpation.

Please note that even if your current username is usurped, you can still edit and your data will not be lost; your preferences, watchlist, and other user settings will be transferred to a new username.

Thank you for your time. Jorrit-H (talk) 18:34, 22 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Would you care for an online interview?[edit]

Endulge my abrupt request. I am a student currently working on a research project regarding Wikipedia; specifically, how arguments about controversial issues are settled and how involved users feel.

It is absolutely important for the research to collect some data from live sources, to find something concrete. My work is about 'how' something is done, and superficial observations never suffice. Insight, understanding, genuine experience is needed. I've seen a slight conflict of an article where you got involved and thought that your voice could provide me with those things.

Could you afford an online interview via e-mail or an online messenger? It would be really precious for me. If you are willing to help, it would be good if you could contact me via User Talk within May 9th. Thanks.
