Image Tagging Image:P5270125.JPG[edit]

Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:P5270125.JPG. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Yes, you did it right. You did forget however to remove the 'no licence' notice I'd placed onto the image, however I've since removed that. All is now fine. Your image remains for use in Wikipedia. Thanks for your speedy reply. -- Longhair 11:39, 3 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Plantperson.  I am curious to know why you tagged this image as public domain.  IANAL, but it sure looks like fair use to me: it is an extremely straightforward reproduction of someone else's work, so the original author most likely retains the copyright (see here).    Xeriphas1994 18:35, 12 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

[Plantperson then responds here.]   It confuses me too, a lot of the time, and maybe I shouldn't do drive-by postings like that until I've been here a bit longer.  :>   As I understand it, however, photographs of essentially 2D compositions fall into the "slavish reproduction" area and therefore retain the license of the original.
Anyway, the only reason I asked is because someone at our wiki had copied it over, including the copyright tag, and although we changed the template, I wanted to know the original rationale just in case we'd missed something.    Xeriphas1994 02:34, 24 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Plantperson. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Kermit Carolina, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 13:05, 31 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Plantperson. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Henry Fernandez (politician), for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  3. save the page

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Henry Fernandez (politician), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. DGG ( talk ) 04:18, 3 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Internet Ray Tracing Competition has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Not notable and will likely never gain any coverage anywhere.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. wumbolo ^^^ 22:18, 30 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
