The only other XERF deejay I can remember was Dr. Jazzmo. If I could think of others, I would add them to the list. Back in the 1950s, when Dr. Jazzmo played Clifton Chenier I used to wonder why the traditional R&B sax solo had been replaced by accordion.Ortolan88

The later history of XERF[edit]

Back in 1983 I visited the studio of XERF and took a look at the old RCA 250,000 watts transmitter that an engineer managed to get back on the airwaves when the station began promoting itself as a "border blaster" once more. I am in the process of updating and expanding the "Pirate Radio" page which now links to XERF and I will also be contributing the later history of XERF on this page as time permits. I'm looking forward to it. Somewhere I read an interview with Wolfman Jack where he, radio guy that he was, was almost salivating over the giant transmitter tubes. Ortolan88 01:08, 29 Sep 2004 (UTC)
