Untitled[edit]

"In 54 he impeached unsuccessfully C. Porcius Cato, who in his tribunate (56) had acted as the tool of the triumvirs." Now, what Cato is this? Not Cato the younger i hope... Muriel Victoria 10:05, 29 Nov 2003 (UTC)

I got that from my source. But I had trouble determining who this person was as well. I will go back and check again.

Birthdate of Pollio looks a little off. He obviously didn't enter public life at age 9.

Cleanup needed[edit]

This article needs some serious work. I've removed references to dodgy websites ("Jesus was Caesar") and other wikis, but all were really left with is encyclopedias. An encyclopedia article based on other encyclopedia articles is obviously unsatisfactory. I'll have a go at gathering some proper sources and rewrite it. --Nicknack009 21:02, 26 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Pollio and Vergil[edit]

The article says that Pollio introduced Vergil to Augustus in the year he died, 4 AD. This is taken from a webpage "The Believer". It's true that Pollio introduced Vergil to Augustus and that Pollio died in 4 AD (or 5, actually), but Vergil died in 19 BC and was introduced to Augustus in the 20s BC (I think). I'll try to clean this up when I have time but if someone is interested please go ahead. Curtisdozier (talk) 04:05, 17 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Pollio not cuckolded by Dolabella[edit]

I removed the sentence stating that Pollio was cuckolded by Dolabella. The reference in Plutarch's Antony 9 is to Antony being cuckolded, not Pollio. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 204.193.117.66 (talk) 15:25, 14 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Three Consuls listed for the year 40 B.C.[edit]

There are three consuls listed for the year 40 B.C. None of them are listed as "Suffect". They obviously cannot all be correct. The three men listed as Consuls are, "Gnaeus Domitious Calvinus", "Lucius Cornelius Balbus" who according to Kenneth Harl WAS consul in 40 B.C., and "Gaius Asinius Pollio". They cannot all be correct. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2605:E000:1600:619D:81ED:4C79:E0D7:55B5 (talk) 18:47, 19 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
