Tom Chant[edit]

Tom Chant is no longer with the band. I've just heard a radio interview in Polish Radio 2 where he states that he left after 25 years. The interview is in polish but his english words can be heard under the voiceover with translation https://www.polskieradio.pl/8/8820/artykul/3079330,dwa-zycia-toma-chanta — Preceding unsigned comment added by Aquaz eu (talkcontribs) 06:04, 17 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Untitled[edit]

I love cinematic orchestra remixes 99-2000.

Alex James[edit]

There is some suggestion that former member, Alex James is the same person as Alex James (musician) from the band Blur - seems unlikely and I can't find any official confirmation - does anyone know for definite? Gram 15:29, 11 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

The documentation on discogs.com suggests he's a different Alex James, but that isn't necessarily accurate: http://www.discogs.com/artist/Alex+James#t=Credits_Instruments-Performance&q=&p=1 dz7 (talk) 20:03, 11 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

"new album"[edit]

"According to Ninja Tune sources, The Cinematic Orchestra are currently recording a new album that is due for released in the summer of 2006."

This most definitely needs a source. Considering it's almost september, I've removed this line as without a source it's just speculation. -- MiG 17:25, 24 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

According to this fan page: http://www.geocities.com/cinematic_orchestra/News.htm an interview with Tom Chant revealed that the album is being worked on, with an estimated release of late 2006, but it goes on to say the latest rumours suggest it's more likley to be March / April 2007. Promotion, not Wiki !! =[edit]

This reads like record promotion, not like Wiki. AK

That's because an anonymous editor copypasted the promo text for Ma Fleur from the Ninja Tune site in its entirety. I've removed it, as the tone is POV (being a promo text, heh). Unless you're doing a short citation (including a reference), don't copypaste text lads. -- MiG 08:46, 11 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Song appearances - section cleanup[edit]

I've cleaned this section up but I wonder if some of the information would be better on album pages. Two or three songs from Ma Fleur feature considerably, it seems, so it may be worth expanding that article. Cipher (Talk) 22:17, 20 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It's worth mentiong that 'Burn Out' by the band appeared in The Slap (TV series), in a scene in a car between the characters 'Hector' and 'Connie' — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.147.134.226 (talk) 01:09, 12 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Some of their songs (including 'Burn Out') are featured on Ninja Tune Radio, one of the radio stations of Sleeping_Dogs_(video_game) --193.147.239.254 (talk) 13:07, 6 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

PC[edit]

What does "PC" mean? It appears twice in the intro near band members' names. dz7 (talk) 20:06, 11 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The intro does explain that PC is the stage name of Patrick Carpenter. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.152.240.115 (talk) 14:36, 18 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
