Mule[edit]

There could be a mention of the mule Coaley, who carried the limestone used to build Old Main. Furthermore, the bones of Coaley still rest on campus in one of the Ag Hill buildings.

Do you have a reference for that? I've never heard of that, and I've been studying at PSU for a few years now. --Spangineer (háblame) 02:16, 14 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
No, but I've seen Coaly's (I spelled it wrong before) bones with my own eyes. There use to be a little coffee shop in the HUB called Coaly's Cafe after the mule. Anyway, I found this article: Coaly and the Sesquicentenial. Apparently, the bones are now in the HUB somewhere.
Last year the bones were on display on the upper floor of the HUB, along with the story.--Joe 18:03, 16 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
The bones are in the HUB, near the HUB auditorium under the wall-mounted television last I checked. That Coaly story is told to visitors who take the Old Main bell tour, along with a story that talks about how pranksters used to carry the mule up the steps to the towers. It could use a reference though. --Jtalledo (talk) 18:20, 16 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
There's also a short story about him with his bones. (I just found them!) --Spangineeres (háblame) 22:52, 16 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
