Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and vote pages using three tildes, like this: ~~~. Categorization

Hi, I notice you've been adding a whole lot of articles to Category:New Zealand. Many of these are already in subcategories of that one. Generally, it is not desirable to have huge categories with a large number of different types of things--it makes it more difficult to find things in that category. That is why they are subcategorized. olderwiser 14:13, Oct 12, 2004 (UTC)

Don't worry, I have no intention of changing any of your edits. I just noticed what you were doing and thought I'd point it out before you invested too much more time in it. PS, it's customary to add new comments to the bottom of a talk page. An easy way to start a new comment on a talk page is to click to little (+) next to "edit this page". Have fun. olderwiser 15:01, Oct 12, 2004 (UTC)

Article Licensing

Hi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 2000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. Over 90% of people asked have agreed. For More Information:

To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" template into their user page, but there are other options at Template messages/User namespace. The following examples could also copied and pasted into your user page:

Option 1
I agree to multi-license all my contributions, with the exception of my user pages, as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

OR

Option 2
I agree to multi-license all my contributions to any U.S. state, county, or city article as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

Or if you wanted to place your work into the public domain, you could replace "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" with "MultiLicensePD". If you only prefer using the GFDL, I would like to know that too. Please let me know what you think at my talk page. It's important to know either way so no one keeps asking. -- Ram-Man (comment| talk)

Is this really deserving of its own article? If this is all the information that can be easly located, shouldn't it be merged to New Zealand Music or somesuch? hfool 19:12, 11 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Go for it mate. Good idea, what was I thinking!

Colin McCahon

Gday from the Deep South, Papeschr! Just noticed the article on ColinMcCahon - good to see (I was thinking it was about time to add an article on him). Not sure whether you know about Wikipedia:New articles (New Zealand), which is for listing new NZ articles. If you could add the names of any New Zealand-related articles you make to this it's be great! Cheers - and keep up the good work! :) Grutness...wha? 10:28, 27 May 2005 (UTC)

Lomu pic

There are some issues with images that are used with permission that are rather pesky. The people that have granted permsission need to go so under a free licence like the GFDL or one of the newer creative commons share a like licences since the general licence that covers Wikipedia allows commerical use of material on Wikipedia. I didn't see anything in the persimmsion you were given that excluded commerical use, but you may want to double check and see if they'll release it under a wikipedia compatible licence or some other any purpose copyright agreement that are listed here. --nixie 06:05, 12 August 2005 (UTC)

An image or media file you uploaded, Image:Murray Webb Caricature Jonah Lomu in Counties Kit.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please look there to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you.

New Zealand portal

An article you made a major contribution to, New Zealand cuisine, is currently the selected article on the New Zealand portal. You're welcome to nominate other articles at Portal_talk:New_Zealand#Selected_articles, or to view the archive of selected articles at the article archive.-gadfium 05:32, 28 February 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for getting involved with the NZ portal. I have however removed your nomination of George Edward Grey for selected article, as we featured this article in January 2006. You can see a list of the selected articles so far this year at Portal:New_Zealand/Selected_article/2006, and earlier selected articles at Portal:New Zealand/Previously featured.-gadfium 05:11, 11 March 2006 (UTC)

Lord of the Rings

Just curious...how interested are in LotR in general? —Mirlen 02:37, 21 March 2006 (UTC)

Interested enough to join a WikiProject pertaining to LotR :P? —Mirlen 04:36, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
Then come add yourself to the participants list at WikiProject Middle-earth. We are sorely in need of active members. It ends up just being CBD and I, despite the number of members who signed up. —Mirlen 01:03, 23 March 2006 (UTC)
Hey, just wanted to see if I you were still interested in signing up. If not, just say no. If yes, please sign up WikiProject Middle-earth...pretty please with a cherry on top? :) —Mirlen 22:43, 30 March 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for the invitation - I thought about it, but I prefer random dabbling. I'm already in Project:New Zealand, joining another project will make wikipedia feel like work! Papeschr 14:24, 9 April 2006 (UTC)

Just to let you know that a meetup is planned in Auckland for the 25th of June (see Wikipedia:Meetup/Auckland for more details), and that you are cordially invited. GeorgeStepanek\talk 00:21, 30 April 2006 (UTC)

Hello, I noticed that you identify as a conservative Wikipedian. So I would like to invite you to post any conservative issues you might have over at the new project page, Wikipedia:Conservative_notice_board. Thanks. --Facto 05:52, 15 June 2006 (UTC)

Papakura in your subpages

Hello. I assume you parked this copy of Papakura in your subpages for 'safekeeping'? Just a note from an absolute pedantic person (me ;-) who notes these things: As it is still tagged as category 'Auckland urban district', the subpage shows up in the corresponding category list! MadMaxDog 15:06, 25 December 2006 (UTC)

Hello Papeschr, an automated process has found an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, such as fair use. The image (Image:Papakuralogo.PNG) was found at the following location: User:Papeschr/Papakura. This image or media will be removed per statement number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media will be replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. The image that was replaced will not be automatically deleted, but it could be deleted at a later date. Articles using the same image should not be affected by my edits. I ask you to please not readd the image to your userpage and could consider finding a replacement image licensed under either the Creative Commons or GFDL license or released to the public domain. Thanks for your attention and cooperation. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 04:07, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Papakuralogo.PNG

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Papakuralogo.PNG. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:54, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

Hi, you created Image:Pi.eq.C.over.d.png. I tried making an SVG counterpart, at commons:Image:Pi.eq.C.over.d.svg, but I can't use it here because Image:Pi.eq.C.over.d.svg already exists. Could you request for its deletion, please? Thank you very much. --Kjoonlee 16:05, 8 July 2007 (UTC)

Image:Pi.eq.C.over.d.svg listed for deletion

An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:Pi.eq.C.over.d.svg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please see the discussion to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. --ST47Talk 17:31, 8 July 2007 (UTC) --ST47Talk 17:31, 8 July 2007 (UTC)

Hi, I ended up uploading a newer version at commons:Image:Pi eq C over d.svg, so now, there's no real reason it must be deleted. I thought I'd let you know. --Kjoonlee 17:55, 8 July 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Jonah Lomu Autobiography.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Jonah Lomu Autobiography.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 23:22, 11 October 2007 (UTC)

Apology for my comments

Robert, I left a comment at Talk:Culture of New Zealand#Weasel tag which User:Gadfium considered was a bit snipey, at you. It wasn't intended to be, but on re-reading it, I can why he might think so, and apologise to you. Ka kite. Kaiwhakahaere (talk) 21:00, 9 June 2009 (UTC)
