contact vs. non-contact[edit]

If somebody was to say "dance with me", but danced near somebody without holding hands or other physical contact, like for instance if the other just wanted to be impressed by one (e.g. dancing in front to show from behind, or face to face); would that be considered a partner dance?

Not according to the typical use of the term. For example, line dancing is not considered a partner dance.

Partner dances with partners of the same sex[edit]

This read like it was written by dancers. Which is fine. It would be more useful if it was written by someone interested in gender studies, backed by appropriate citations. Ho hum —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.158.138.253 (talk) 19:39, 15 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
