Two suggestions[edit]

  • we don't place actors in this category, but instead use the English, Welsh, Scottish and Northern Irish subcategories — its more informative and stops this category becoming too large (though this won't help the oversized English subcategory).
  • Actors in the Asian British and Black British subcats should usually also be placed in a 'country' subcat (as being Asian British doesn't stop you being Welsh).

Per consensus at Category talk:Actors#Categorization of professions by nationality, British actors should continue to be listed in this category, as well as in the appropriate by country and by medium categories. --Lini 03:21, 13 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
That "consensus" was obtained in a rush and goes against the much wider consensus on how to do categorisation. It has been disputed in various places and I regard it as void. Chicheley 09:45, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
