Why not a redirect

I was going to make this a straight redirect to Erewhon, but decided this would just perpetuate the misspelling. In any case Erehwon may be taking on a life as its own. -- Solipsist 14:29, 7 Nov 2004 (UTC)

I'm changing it to a redirect, as there is no extra information here. When a user is redirected, the notice "redirected from Erehwon" will appear, and the article at Erewhon states the name is an anagram, not a reversal. The town in New Zealand is spelled Erewhon, and is mentioned in that article. BonsaiViking 19:59, 11 October 2005 (UTC)

There is certainly scope for merging with the Erewhon article, but it would need to make much more play of the spelling problems. Wikipedia's normal redirect line is typically too small to notice with common mispelling problems. In this case there is a particular problem as people vaguely familiar with the name know it is a reversing of the word 'nowhere' and so typically get it wrong. There is nothing particularly wrong with keeping the articles separate if that helps to explain the mispelling problem. For an example of the scale of the problem a Google comparison suggests a correct to mispelling ratio of 160,000 : 60,000 -- Solipsist 21:04, 11 October 2005 (UTC)

New Zealand location

If the location in New Zealand is spelt Butler's correct way as 'Erewhon' with a wh rather than an hw, shouldn't it me mentioned on the Erewhon page rather than here. Or is this all too confusing and everything should be merged with the article about the novel? -- Solipsist 17:40, 4 Apr 2005 (UTC)
