Image and taxobox[edit]

I cleaned up the taxobox in accordance with Wikipedia:WikiProject_Tree_of_Life/taxobox_usage and I added a picture I took of an Oyster bed. I'm hoping this is acceptable. JohnCub 13:25, 29 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

MSX[edit]

Missing Disease Many oyster populations experienced high mortality rates in the 1950’s which was determined to be a protozoan parasite (Haplosporidium nelson) which at first was called “MSX". MSX stands for multinucleated sphere unknown. MSX reduces the feeding rates of infected oysters leading to a reduced amount of stored carbohydrates. The reduction in stored carbohydrates inhibits normal gametogenesis in spring and a reduction in fecundity (Kennedy 1995). Gibby is gibby (talk) 21:09, 27 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
