In response to the big news!!! Excellent discovery of a great boob!! One person that I added above, Abigail Eliot, was a person I originally couldn't find a death date for. It was found on that social security death site. Just wondering, are their any other people you can think of that have got an unknown birth or death date. If so, write em' in below and I'll search for them.

I do recall one man who I believe was listed on the Life in Legacy obit site earlier this year, but I don't think he had a birthdate. The man's name is Theodor Jacobsen and he was an astronomer. After doing a short Yahoo search on him, he does have some stuff (and some pretty good oldy pictures too). Give him a search and see what you think. I believe his years are (1901-2003).

Dec 20, 2003: Remember Neta Lohnes Frazier, that obscure author? I found her on that Social Security Death Site. She made it to 100!--April 18, 1890-June 2, 1990. It's up to you whether or not we should add her. She still doesn't have allot o' info.

I'm sure by now that youv'e heard about the death of Etta Moten Barnett. I found the dates for Denise Columb (April 1, 1902-Janaury 2, 2003). Also on that celbrity death site, there was a man by the name of Arthur R. von Hippel (November 19, 1898-December 31, 2003) who is really worth it. He was a scientist who made significant contributions to the development of radar.

In reverting some silly stuff on the Centenarian article,I inserted Uhlmeyer instead of Wotherspoon because I thought she was more worthy of mention--she lived longer and actually remembered the disaster.I note both their bio articles have been tagged as "unencyclopedic"...I really think that we have to reduce the number of listed centenarians to ones really deserving of encyclopedia articles and not just people who just happened to survive a century without doing anything that would make them important if they hadn't done that.Only supercentenarians (and far from all of them) are noteworthy for longevity alone!--Louis Epstein/le@put.com/12.144.5.2 02:45, 16 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Tis me relating that Peter Jennings, Barbara Bel Geddes and the Radcliffe are officially cadavers, joining the rank of Mrs. Genevieve Russo Guido born sometime in 1896 and died on May 1, 2005. Just figured this old biddy was worth some importance. I take it that everything in D.C is kosher, so I'll leave ya be. Give Dubya a groin kick if you run across him, just for purposes of sanity.

Much obliged sir, just writing to note that Zhou is on my "Noted Oldy" list, which is undergoing some needed tweeking (removals and such). I found a whole slew of newbies (or soon to be centenarians) on the Wikipedia German page. All ya gotta do is go to the page and search Liste berühmter Hundertjähriger and it'll bring up the centenarians list in German, but with alot of persons we dont have. An added bonus on the list is 1906 and 1907 people (in a separate section) that will turn 100 soon (Robert Hakim, born 1907) is a damn good find.....check it out and continue to locate people!!! Belangoda Ananda Maitreya (August 24, 1896-July 18, 1998): influential Buddhist monk who was originally on the list, found him on Wiki, migh as well put him back on.

Georges Charles Jules Bugnet (February 23, 1879-January 11, 1981):is regarded as one of the major French writers of Canada, got an oldy picture on the net and alot of info.

Denise Colomb(April 1, 1902-January 1, 2004): mentioned her in a message last year, was a French photographer who worked with Picasso and Dali.

H. Claude Hudson(June 12, 1887-January 26, 1989): businessman, civil rights advocate and dentist who became national director of the NAACP.

Amal Kiran-his dates are on Wiki and he's still alive (born 1904)!! An Indian philosopher and author, he's got a few oldy pics.

Murray Barnson Emeneau(February 28, 1904-August 29, 2005): You added him to the 'pedia but did you add him to your list? was a cultural linguist and expert on Sanskrit.

Judah David Eisenstein(November 21, 1854-May 17, 1956): A damn good find, was a Jewish American writer and activist,was the first to translate into Hebrew and Yiddish the US Constitution and a few websites refer to him as the "Forrest Gump of Jewish History".

Dr. Katherine Bain(September 1, 1897-January 10, 1997):Pediatrician and health advocate who was administrator of the U.S. Children's Bureau, 1940-1972; and a member of the U.S. delegation to the executive board of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), 1957-1973. Her work also led to child proof safety caps.

Jasper Herbert Kane(July 15, 1903-November 16, 2004):US biochemist who helped develop antibiotics in mass quantities, was VP and Director of Research at Pfizer.

Charles D. Barney(July 9, 1844-October 24, 1945): American stockbroker (founded Smith Barney Investments in the 1870s, pioneer in brokerage firms.....found a picture.

The List.....Returns with Avengeance

Howdy. Just reporting that I've started on the Famous Centenarians List again (the big one with pictures, which I did once before.) The old one was around 175 individuals, the current one looks to be around 500!!! Taking into consideration that there are 527 people on my list (as of October 22), I counted about 20 or 25 that didn't have pictures. I am giving you a mission, if you choose to except it, to find pictures like we did awhile ago at Prendergast, and like you did at Fredonia. Seeing that you're in Washington and near the Library of Congress, you might have some luck. I'm gonna try to get this thing done, and not do it half-ass like I sometimes do (starting but not finishing.) I have removed Phil Christison, Preston Bassett because I found pictures. Also, while doing my list I decide to research some people and found this out: Catharine Sargent Huntington WAS NOT 100. She was 99. Her birthdate (according to the Social Security thingy) was December 1887, not 1886. She died in Feb. 1987, so she didn't make it. Strange, manily because shes been on the list awhile. Write back what ya think, and e-mail me if ya find pictures.

Kathryn Wasserman Davis (February 25, 1907-): Found this woman in a 2007 Who's Who book at Prendergast. Shes a philanthropist and foundation head. Its been awhile! Just found this on a Philadelphia newspaper site, and it is of some importance. I'd almost forgotten about this guy. Evidently he died towards th middle of June, and I'm quite perplexed as to why it wasn't in the NY Times.

A Mission, If You Choose to Accept It

Hello! I have a bit of a quest for you, and hopefully you'll come through. Within the past few weeks, I have begun to revisit something that's been sadly overlooked in recent years....the dreaded "Political Strange Names" folder. I'm sure you remember well all of the scraps of paper, lists and work that went into that damn thing, including the lists that you yourself gave me. I was hoping (if your time permits) that you could scrounge around and dig up any new ones that might strike you as odd (names of the Ner Middleswarth variety.) I've begun a revamping of the old list (a very long story) and it is nearing 700+, and there's some interesting new additions (Feramorz Little and Zerubabbel Snow are two that come to mind.) So, if you manage to find any while pouring through an old book or surfing the net/Political Graveyard, put em' on my talk page. Take care and hopefully we'll see each other at Christmas.

Some Minor Mistakes

I was printing out the "N.C." List that you'll get at Christmas and I noticed some minor discrepencies between yours and mine (wrong dates, ages, new middle names) here are the "corrections".

• Christian Huerich was born September 12, 1842, not March 7, 1842. His actual age is 102 years 194 days
• D. Howard Doane died February 19, 1984, not September 5, 1984. His actual age is 100 years 204 days
• Sir Provo Wallis died February 13, 1892, not April 26, 1892. His acual age is 100 years 277 days
• Harriett Clisby's actual dates of birth and death are August 8, 1830 - January 1, 1931 not what I originally gave you. Her actual age is 100 years 146 days.

• Catherine Sargent Huntington (I might have mentioned this on your talk page awhile ago) DID NOT make it to 100. I remeber you finding her on a website and then telling me about it, so I added her to my list. A look at the SSDI site reveals she was close, but she didn't make it to 100 (1887-1987), not 1886-1987. [[7]]. She's another Bishop Joseph Bonhomme, basically. These 1908s just keep popping up! I found this woman on Yahoo and she has a Wikipedia article, and a pretty good one at that. Her name is Ida Pollock a British romance novelist (April 12, 1908-).Longevitymonger (talk) 20:08, 21 December 2008 (UTC)

In addition to the above, here's another woman you may want to add. Her name is Eleanor Josephine MacDonald, a pioneer in cancer treatment. I got excited because the site didn't mention a death date, but she died on July 27, 2007 at age 101. Still a good add though.

Hi Katagelophobia. The licensing of each media file you see used on Wikipedia is determined by it copyright status and not every file you see on Wikipedia is licensed the same. Some files are licensed as public domain or licensed under a free licensed suitable for Wikipedia and these are often collectively referred to as "free images". Other files are licensed as non-free content because of their copyright status and these files are commonly referred to as "non-free". Non-free content use on Wikipedia is highly restricted and each use of such files must satisfy Wikipedia's non-free image use policy. One of these restrictions is WP:NFCC#9, which says that non-free content can only be used in the article namespace. For this reason and as explained in WP:UP#Non-free files, non-free content such as File:J. Bracken Lee.JPG, etc. cannot be used on your user page.
