Red & Black Revolution[edit]

[1] @Bastun, Red & Black Revolution has none of the hallmarks of a reliable source, i.e., known for reporting statements of fact, usually with an editorial policy or professional pedigree. It's a movement periodical to be interpreted by academics and journalists, not something an encyclopedia should be citing directly. For more information on what makes a source reliable, see WP:RS, but please revert your revert. czar 00:34, 28 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi czar. Not really seeing what the issue is, here. It is (was) a periodical that's not listed at Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Perennial sources and is being used for a non-controversial fact. Biased sources may be reliable in a specific context, and there is nothing to indicate that it's incorrect or biased in this regard? BastunĖġáḍβáś₮ŭŃ! 10:02, 28 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It's no different than a blog. It has little to do with bias and more to do with having no claim to editorial discretion and therefore no claim to reliability. It doesn't matter that the fact is right or wrong but whether the publication is trustworthy for the fact. And if noteworthy, there should not be an issue finding a suitable secondary source replacement. czar 02:06, 29 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Alternative Facts[edit]

Declan Henry's article headed Traveller Community 'Belongs to Ireland' in The Irish Post (published in Birmingham) of 1st October 2022 has different population statistics: around 40,000 Irish Travellers living in the Republic of Ireland, approximately 5,000 in Northern Ireland, an estimated 15,000 - 20,000 in England, Scotland and Wales, around 20,000 in the United States and "a sizeable community" in Canada. No sources were given for the data, but they may be in his book "Gypsies, Roma and Travellers: A Contemporary Analysis" published by Critical Publishing on 7th September 2022. Figuring out where to put material on "Pony Kids"[edit]

I'm working on the article Fletcher Street Urban Riding Club, which is about an American organization that teaches young people about taking care of and riding horses. The article includes some material about horse-riding teenagers in Dublin, but it doesn't seem to belong in the article -- it's not closely related -- so I'd like to move it. I'm thinking this could be rewritten to fit under "Sports" in this article, since the practice seems to come from Irish Traveller traditions. Does that make sense? Suggestions for other places to cover this? Dreamyshade (talk) 17:27, 6 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
