Orthodox Judaism[edit]

I'm not sure if you're correct about Haredim rejecting Torah im Derech Eretz. You may have overlooked the situation in the USA, where Aguda is effectively being run by lay professionals. And even in Israel, the majority of Haredim have professional schooling. JFW | T@lk 15:02, 21 Feb 2005 (UTC)

I absolutely agree with you. Something is very wrong with my English if you misunderstood me as though I said all Haredim rejected Rabbi Hirsch's way. What I said was actually quite the opposite:In the beginning Agudat Israel was based on the legacy of Torah im Derech Erech. Afterwards, the Litvaks changed it, but even today there is no dichotomy between Agudat Israel and Rabbi Hirsch's way. SHASHAZ 18:00, 21 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Hi Humus, it's only me here, but I will pass your message on to "everyone". Yes, your suggestion is excellent, it is certainly time for what you describe, but I have no experience with Wikipedia portals, and if you know how, go ahead and start an Israel portal and I am sure editors of Israel-related articles will support you and join in the effort/s. Isha Katlanit[edit]

Maimonides, consistent with his rational attitude, tried to make the Isha Katlanit rule less stricter.

It is very much POV to state that Maimonides deliberately modified the rules, and did so on the basis of his purported "rational attitude". By phrasing his stance this way, one completely ignores the following:

he did not change any laws, but was simply lenient in undecided questions
while he appears a pure rationalist, he did not modify laws when they appeared unrational.
