Deku Butler's Son[edit]

How do we know that the Butler's son is actually dead? In Ocarina of Time, when the Great Deku Tree dies, his body turns gray - although the Butler's Son seems to still have his "healthy" colored of brown. Also, I really don't think the Deku Mask holds the spirit of the Butler's Son. When playing the Elegy of Emptiness while wearing the Zora or the Goron mask, the "dummy" left behind looks identical to the former bodies the souls once had - namely Darmani and Mikau. But when wearing the Deku Mask, the "dummy" left behind simply looks like a basic Deku shrub, and nothing like the Deku Butler's son. Also, when you obtain the Song of Healing, it says that it heals souls and curses. The curses is probably referring to the Deku Mask Curse.

At the end of the game, it doesn't even show the Deku Butler crying. He's just standing beside the tree, possibly even talking to him although the conversation isn't shown to the player. Just because Link can't speak to the Deku Butler's son, doesn't mean that he's dead.

We don't. However, well, the article mentions all the hints, so I'm not gonna explain all that. I will however, answer each of your questions/statements.:

  • The GDT turned grey? Gotta replay OoT, because I don't remember that. (youtube = offline at the moment). But still, what does that have to do with the DB's son? First of all, they aren't of the same race. Secondly, they died in different ways. Tatl about the twisted tree:
(But enough about that for now... Come over to this tree and check it out! It's strange, but the way you look right now sort of looks like this tree... It looks all dark and gloomy... almost like it could start crying any second now... How sad...)

DB:

(Actually, when I see you, I am reminded of my son who left home long ago...)

Because the tree does not look like a Deku Scrub (or rather, Deku Scrubs don't look like trees), it can be assumed his body was deformed (maybe that was the reason he died). Also, how do you know what the DB's son looks like, if you don't think the dummy is him? Because that's the ONLY reference we have to his looks. Regardless, a tree would not be able to grow there, so if this was a natural one, how did it get there? Also, may I remind you that Link indeed was cursed, but that that doesn't mean the DB's Son doesn't inhabit the mask? Link didn't obtain the mask like he obtained the other two; he was forced to "fuse", with a soul that was not yet "healed". The other two were healed before he could fuse with them and that was voluntarily. On another note, the curse most likely (also) refers to the Gibdo Mask, which btw, indeed doesn't contain a soul. Lastly, that wasn't talking what the DB did. At least, I don't know how you move and act when talking, but those weren't talking movements. Far more like crying in agony. When youtube is back online, I'll give you a link.DreamingLady 08:23, 22 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Chat and Trail[edit]

"Early translations of their names were "Chat" and "Trail.""

I've never heard this before--is it true? Master Thief Garrett 09:48, 30 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Sure is. These names were apparently rough translations used by importers before the North American version became available. I provided three sources for this. Deco 20:12, 30 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Ah, thank you. I would have looked it up myself but it was getting rather late! Just goes to show that they do deliberately put "play on words" references in the games (like "Link's Awakening")... Master Thief Garrett 00:42, 1 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]
If I'm not mistaken, those are still their actual names, just not in the English version.
They are indeed the Japanese names: チャット (chatto) and トレイル (toreiru). Setokaiba 17:43, 10 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Kafei[edit]

The article says he was transformed while going to Anju, but I remember from the game (I have(had) two editions, US collectors and GCN) that he was going to the Milk bar to show his friends the mask. Jaxad0127 06:41, 13 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Since no one's going to argue, I'm going to change it. Jaxad0127 19:34, 15 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Japas -- too minor a character[edit]

I've removed Japas's info on the grounds that he holds little importance to the game and storyline. Lulu and Mikau are much more notable members of the Indigo-go's, and just because Japas has a name doesn't qualify him for notability here. He is also already listed in the Zora article under the Indigo-go's subsection. --Tryforceful 01:45, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Majora's Mask / Skull Kid[edit]

I believe that the two could get their own pages. There is much information about both of them that is not here and could earn them their own pages. If Veran and Onox both have seperate articles, I do believe that the entity, Majora's Mask, should as well. I beleive that they might have had their own pages in the past, but I'm not sure.

It did. It was changed to a redirect to this page and then to the game's page. Jaxad0127 05:04, 26 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Majora's Mask, at least, only appears in this game, and only has importance with it. Furthermore, I think you'd find that if you trimmed out the cruft, there's not really more than maybe four or five paragraphs - plenty appropriate for the top part of a character list. Skull Kid, while appearing in OoT and TP, only has much importance here (while the TP one might have some importance, it is a much different-looking character, even if it is the same character). I would suggest keeping it here, as most of the information gained from making its own article is already present on the Races page.KrytenKoro 05:25, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well if we had a page on Majora's Mask alone than we would have to have a page for the other one-time Zelda villains: Shadow Link from Zelda II, Agahnim from A Link To The Past, Ganon's second-in-command (I think his name was Dethl) from Link's Awakening, Twinrova from Oracle of Ages & Oracle of Seasons, Onox and Veran from Oracle and Ages and Oracle of Seasons respectively, Vaati from Four Swords, Minish Cap and Four Swords Adventures, Zant from Twilight Princess and Bellum from Phantom Hourglass (although Agahnim, Vaati in Four Swords Adventures and Zant were partnered with Ganondorf/Ganon). If you're going to have a page devoted to one one-time Zelda villain then do it for the others okay? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.46.117.40 (talk) 00:35, 13 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dethl from Link's Awakening had nothing to do with Ganon, Twinrova appears in OoT as well, and Vaati appears in three different games (and Minish Cap does not contain Ganondorf at all). But still, yes, that is the basic point. Not even Mr. Lister's Koromon survived intact. 14:31, 13 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Skull Kid's beak?[edit]

I never saw a beak on any of the Skull Kids - they seemed to have flat, featureless faces, except for the eyes and mouth. Pictures, maybe?

No i remember seeing a beak on the Skull Kids face at some point in the game, more than likely the end. Although we have to remember that this is not the same realm as Hyrule so its possiable that some races look differant. I mean the Zora look somewhat differant or am i just delusionial? Kou Nurasaka 17:30, 24 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The Skull Kid had a beak in Majoras Mask, there are videos on youbtube with the ending, and it shows him with a beak. Oh, and I think that the Skull Kid, being a recurring character, should probably receive his own page.

It has a tiny, tiny beak, but it is apparently there. (I thought it was a glowing triangle like his eyes, at first).
As for his own article - he's not really much of a character in the others, though - what are you going to put there, really, besides stuff from MM?KrytenKoro 05:27, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

~Skull Kid shows two evidences of a beak in this game. The first being after you find Skull Kids carving in a tree on your way to the Deuku Palace. Within that flashback there are severel chances (though small in time) to see his beak, so tiny it wouldn't keep the Mask from not fitting right.

The second as mentoined above would be during the end credits~ Oct 05, 2007 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.119.38.154 (talk) 15:43, 5 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The bosses[edit]

The bosses really aren't characters - at most, they are curses upon the giants (in my interpretation). I think it would be much more appropriate if the information here was put on the Bosses in The Legend of Zelda series, where they would be more appropriate - they're little more than strong enemies in this game.KrytenKoro 05:30, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Help reverting Massive amount of Vandalism[edit]

All right this just makes me mad, someone removed a huge chunk of info from this page. I don't know how to get all of the stuff back since it's hard to find where it all went bad, can someone help with restoring this article please? Unknown Dragon 05:13, 1 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Tatl and Tael are missing http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_characters_in_The_Legend_of_Zelda:_Majora%27s_Mask#Tatl_and_Tael Dio Only Uses a Knife 06:20, 1 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Okay good, this article has been restored, now I need help with the characters in Twilight Princess article for it has suffered the same fate. Unknown Dragon 17:44, 1 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Also needs Ikana characters[edit]

Like Skull Keeta, Igos du Ikana, and Pamela. Not even Mr. Lister's Koromon survived intact. 07:51, 5 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Inconspicuous Soldier[edit]

I'd like it add why he couldn't be seen was because he was wearing the stone mask himself, so he decided to give the Stone Mask to Link. Also, his name is Shiro. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.115.242.182 (talk) 17:54, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is what it says in the player's guide as well, and I believe it does so in the Bomber's Notebook too.Not even Mr. Lister's Koromon survived intact. 23:21, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sakon[edit]

You know in the Characters list I've noticed that they've removed Sakon from the page. Why is this? Sakon is one of the major characters in the side-quests (or at the very least a major one amongst the minor characters) and is the game's secondary villain (Majora's Mask obviously being the main villain). He's also the main villain of the Anju and Kafei side-quest. I really think people should re-include him. (Don't reprimand me for doing nothing because every time I do include it someone else erases it.) Also as long as we're on the subject of Sakon, I think he should've been killed off at the end of the Anju and Kafei side-quest (you know as a boss at the end of his hideout). Really after all he did I think he deserves to kick the bucket. I think it would actually be even better if instead of Link killing Sakon, Kafei comes back and does the deed. You know somebody should write to Nintendo to tell them that in a re-release of the game. Anyway through and through I think this debate might make Sakon somewhat of a modernized Mr. Potter from It's A Wonderful Life (he deserved to die but he didn't). Also I'd just like to say as long as we're on the topic of Sakon is the spelling of his name. Is it spelled Sakon or Sackon. I keep on getting mixed up. Can someone confirm that since I check up on this page every now and then (Majora's Mask being my personal favorite video game). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.46.117.40 (talk) 01:34, 1 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please read WP:RS and WP:NOR. The problem with the section you added was that most of the material was speculative in nature, and such information isn't suitable for Wikipedia. Also, it's "Sakon". Haipa Doragon (talkcontributions) 23:23, 1 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Parallel universe[edit]

Unless someone can cite a direct and official source to say Termina is a parallel universe, I don't see how saying so isn't original research. 90.193.232.201 (talk) 17:56, 29 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

http://zelda.com/universe/pedia/t.jsp#Termina refers to it as an "alternate world", which seems like the same thing. Pagrashtak 19:46, 29 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know how to do the little thing that puts a little [1] next to a word and puts it in the citations section below...but that needs doing next to the words "Parallel universe". 90.193.232.201 (talk) 11:45, 30 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
