NJ Communities[edit]
Thanks for note regarding my contributions. I appreciate it. I'm aware of the problem you indicate. Many communities in New Jersey lack proper articles because of it, simply because they aren't official municipalities. Over time, it's a good bet someone will make them, as you did for Newfoundland. I'm afraid I'm a bit too impatient to track down what township something is really in. Leaving a red link is sometimes good thing, as it alerts people to what needs to be filled in. Thanks for the comments! I've been meaning to write a bit more about Mr. Taylor -- looks like an interesting historical personality, and we definitely need a Taylor Ham article! My hubby grew up Cherry Hill, New Jersey before emigrating to the Left Coast, and talks of Taylor Ham and McMillan's sticky buns with great fondness....
And it's little details like the Waterfront Park outfield wall advertisment that will never show up in Encyclopedia Britannica, but which really do mean something to locals who might come to look at the Taylor Ham article.
And yes, I really only meant to disambiguate John Taylor (Duran Duran) from John Taylor (jazz), and did a bit of Googling, and here I am, the author of articles (or stubs at least) on 26 distinct and interesting JTs from the 1300s to the present day... and have learned a fair bit about British politics, Mormonism, triplets, Trenton history, rugby, and Thames boatmen along the way. Gawd, I love Wikipedia!

Holman Stadium[edit]

Hello, I noticed that you were the last person to edit the Newark Bears article and I was hoping you could help me with a question. Are you familiar at all with Rolando Viera? He played for the Bears in at least their 2003 and 04 seasons, though he is not on the present roster. I know that he was originally signed to the Red Sox and played for their farm teams, but that the Bears are unaffiliated. Does this necessarily mean that the contract ended, or would a MLB team allow a signed player to temporarily play for an unaffiliated team? Do you know what Viera might be doing now? Thanks! S-5 etc[edit]
I tried emailing this to you, but the email on your site was dead.
How much do you know about the early days of the state highways in Bergen County, specifically 1927-1931? There seems to be a lot of confusion about S-5 (now 93, not S-51 as the SLD and your site says). Specifically, it was defined in 1927 as:
connecting Route No. 5 with Route No. 1 in Ridgefield and Fairview overpassing Northern Railroad at Ridgefield.
http://www.jimmyandsharonwilliams.com/njroads/1920s/images/1927_routes.gif shows that 5 was to run with 6 from roughly the connection at Palisades Park to Little Ferry. 1 would have been built along a new alignment north of roughly the county line, coming into Fort Lee separate from 6. S-5 would have been what actually became 1, as well as what actually became S-5, connecting 1 in Fairview to 5/6 on the Ridgefield/Fairview line. However, there's one problem with this - there's no crossing of the Northern Railroad. The bridge on Hendricks Causeway was built around that time, replacing the grade crossing on pre-1927 10, but that doesn't make sense as part of a through S-5. It's possible that the legislature intended for all of old 10 to become 5, and S-5 would head over the new bridge and end at Hendricks Causeway and Edgewater Avenue. That still doesn't make much sense though, as they'd want to reroute 5 over the new bridge. Are there any state highway markings on the bridge?
Then in 1929, 5 was truncated to Ridgefield-Edgewater, and the text about the railroad overpass was removed from S-5. There is still a problem though - S-5 no longer intersected 5, but that could just have been an error.

File permission problem with File:Njmap-0203.png[edit]
Thanks for uploading File:Njmap-0203.png. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

Hello. Please note that the link on your user page to "The Sandcastle" is out of date. The stadium was renamed in 2006, and the novel is now the primary topic with that name.
