Kenya Lyrics[edit]

I would like to request that someone please add Kenya'a lyrics, I was unable to find them in a Pure lyrics format, and some words not match from page to page 8o( -- unsigned by 201.0.94.228

Current consensus is that including lyrics would not be covered by Fair Use and so would be a violation of Jonti Picking's copy rights. It's unlikely that you'll see Kenya lyrics here any time soon.  — Saxifrage |  17:12, May 1, 2005 (UTC)

Viewing statistics update[edit]

I updated the viewing statistics to what they are as of now instead of when the article was written; if anyone prefers the old version, feel free to revert it back. 69.4.200.122 01:37, 10 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Not suitable for children?[edit]

It says Magical Trev isn't suitable for children.. what's wrong with it? In my opinion it's one of the most kid oriented animations there! Sure, there are toons that would be unsuitable for children (Mr. Stabby and Salad Fingers) but Trev is not one of them 203.54.20.137 04:45, 4 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Ultimate Showdown[edit]

According to the page, the UltimateShowdown is a WeeblStuff cartoon, but in actuality it's a function of AltF4, a well-known SA contributor (and asshat if you ask me and are reading this). Watching the movie also gives you subtle clues (for example the animated figure of Lowtax is in the background of one of the scenes).

Badger Badger Badger, mushroom, mushroom[edit]

Howcome "Badger Badger Badger" is only mentioned at "see also"? I consider it to be one of the most significant of Weebl's... um.. stuff. It was the first one I saw (and watched it at least dozens if not hundreds of times), and that's how I first found out about Weebl and his stuff. After watching many more clips, I still think it's one of the best, if not the very best one. I mean, really, Badger Badger Badger!

Mushroom mushroom!

aditsu 16:31, 2 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It's not talked about here because it has its own article. Possibly it should have a short section mentioning that it's the most well-known (is it?) cartoon at the top which then says "for more information, see Badger Badger Badger." — Saxifrage 18:38, 2 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
"Weebl and Bob" also has its own article, but it has the first and most prominent section (not just "talked about") here. While I don't claim that "Badger Badger Badger" is more important, I think it should be listed. aditsu 09:02, 3 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed. At least it should be have its own section with nothing but a "see main article at" link... Kimpire 23:51, 22 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Cat and bird in tree[edit]

Does anybody know a short cartoon on MTV a couple of years ago displaying a Cat in a tree with a bird annoying him. The cat slaps the bird with a shoe. I can't find it anywhere! It's also guided by a funny tune. It goes like: Hahahaha-hahaha hohohoho-hohoho hihihihi-hihihi nehnehneh and then starts all over again. Can be annoying after a while.

Lyrics[edit]

Can an someone tell me why I can post weebl's lyrics (Which I love) on plently of sites, but you guys won't let me? Did you get sued or something? Also is there another weebl's toon page, because if there isn't, I'll be adding quite a bit to this one. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Kekenkenka (talkcontribs) .

Including lyrics isn't allowed by Fair Use, so we can't have them on the page as it would be a copyright violation. We haven't been sued, but we know what would be sue-able and don't allow it. — Saxifrage 22:47, 11 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
no, you wouldnt be liable. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 64.122.208.51 (talk) 15:46, 15 February 2007 (UTC).[reply]
Just removed some more lyrics. Song lyrics are automatically copyrighted and there is no permission given on the website to publish the lyrics. This means we can't include them here. You can ask Weebl for permission if you want to include them. --h2g2bob 18:16, 28 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Toon 57[edit]

In an attempt to add a short piece on toon 57(aaaaaaaahhhhhh), it was marked as vandalism. See:Edit 9/28/06

However, it is clear that the user who did deem it vandalism is a bot acting on simple heuritstics. The title of the toon aaaaaahhhhhh was clearly misinterperted as vandalism, as it is an actual toon. Is there a way to prevent such users from considering such an addition vandalism? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Nevakee11 (talkcontribs) .

No, but an anti-vandal bot will generally only make that reversion once so that it can be changed back if it's mistaken. They're designed that way for cases just like this. — Saxifrage 22:38, 28 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Magical Trevor 3[edit]

Is it just me or does the music sound oddly like the music in The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension? 69.124.143.230 01:23, 2 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Rewrite the article to be more based around the website?[edit]

I was just wondering if maybe it would be better to rewrite the article in the style of other pages such as ytmnd or spacebattles.com, with he appropriate infobox and the like. The page at the moment doesn't really seem to have any real structure and it doesn't seem to mention how Weebl seems to be freeing the website to contributions from other animators? Boyinabox 16:21, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Agree. This page is a bit of a mess at the moment. I'll work on it tomorrow perhaps - I'll make the page less cartoon-centric and more website-centric. If I forget, come shout at me on my talk page. (I'd like to do it myself, as I'm quite fond of the site).--Ninty 21:28, 14 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Finished! Weebl's Stuff. Now we can delete this page...yes?
Send it to AfD, making sure to mention the rewritten page at the new title as the reason. — Saxifrage 20:16, 17 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

PROD[edit]

Why is this PRODded? The replacement article doesn't have half the content and isn't really on the same subject anyway. Besides, why deletion? What's wrong with a merge and redirect? Or simply expanding this article to include the website stuff at Weebl's Stuff? CaptainVindaloo t c e 19:20, 18 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I see no reason to delete this page. I'll put a main article link on the Weebl's Stuff animation section that points to here, and put a link to Weebl's stuff on this page. The two articles are on different topics. Removed PROD Ziiv 21:50, 18 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
They're on different topics, sure, but this one is just an indiscriminate list of information, which is counter to WP:NOT. The intention was to rewrite the page, but the user that took it upon themselves just did it at a new page. I'd be happy to see this page disappear because it's a maintenance nightmare—random people are always adding new descriptions of their favourite animations, and it's impossible to keep from being a big stain of original research on the encyclopedia. — Saxifrage 22:21, 18 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
nevertheless, that wasn't the reason for the proposed deletion, which is why I removed it.Ziiv 00:52, 19 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Fair enough. I'll prod it properly and see what happens. — Saxifrage 04:14, 19 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, how about this instead: take the text from the new page, paste it in here (which was the original intention—a rewrite), and then get it moved to the new title? — Saxifrage 04:16, 19 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, it was PRODed because of what Saxifrage said about original research, but I (being new to all this deleting lark) was a bit vague as to my intentions. However, this article could live on as an improved "complete list of toons" - I don't really want a huge list cluttering up the Weebl's Stuff page. This page just needs alphabetizing, with a short (SHORT!) summary for each toon, with links to other pages where necessary. I might get round to it some day, but any of you guys can do this if you like.--Ninty 07:32, 23 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The BIG Rewrite[edit]

OK, here's the plan: at the moment this page is a big mess, and that's just not good enough for the greatness of these cartoons. Therefore, I intend to rewrite it into a short alphabetised list of every toon, so that it can be a jump-board to develop seperate pages for each one. Here's an example of what I intend to make it look like:

  • Crabs - A looping toon concerning a man with a big bag of crabs, and what he plans to do with them. This toon features music with a strong reggae/ska influence, which is an unusual departure for Weebl's toons. There is a fan-made version of this toon, a machinima made using Garry's Mod for Half-Life 2. You can view the toons at the following links:

The "Crabs" Cartoon

The Garry's Mod Version

  • Demolition Squid - A toon parodying and exaggerating cliches from the action movie genre. etc etc etc

There you have it. Short and to the point is how I wants it. I will be gradually doing this starting from tomorrow, when I'll stick up a basic alphabetized list, with all the notes to follow later. If there are any objections or suggestions please tell me here or at my talk page.--Ninty 13:57, 31 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

TIS DONE!!! Now it just needs filling! I'll leave that up to you guys whilst I lie down...--Ninty 18:42, 1 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I personnaly don't like the idea about short descriptions. What are the Lardman explanations about the introduction sequences become? Any single cartoon like Crabs wouldn't survive a vote for deletion if you intend to create a page for EACH toon.--82.121.249.79 19:57, 2 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Feel free to expand the entries, in fact I encourage you to, just don't go into reams of detail, or spell out every plot-point of each toon. Just scroll down a bit on that "Wikipedia is not" page until you get to "... is not an indescriminate depository of information". Oh, and you're totally right about my foolish individual pages idea. But it would be nice to get some pages up for the toons with multiple installments, like "The Lord" or "Magical Trevor". I'm surprised Trev hasn't got a page yet anyway!--Ninty 22:13, 4 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

== Complete list?==

Your "complete" list of all his cartoons is pretty incomplete. It doesn't include frosty or krentz and the hand of shame or, i am sure, a few others. Will someone please update it?

Ah yes, but Krentz etc isn't made by Weebl and co, they're provided by David Homfray. Question is, do we include toons made by other guys on this list?--Ninty 08:51, 6 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Lardman[edit]

There's this addition under Lardman 1.

Dr. Zaius Productions also made a movie based on Lard Man, wherein Lard Man teams up with Galfonga the Warrior to find his brother Butter Boy, who was stolen by the French. This film was accepted with greater praise.

Not only is there no link to any animation but I can't find any such "Dr. Zaius Productions". In fact, googling most terms only brings up this wikipedia entry. Is this a real animation or is someone having a laugh? Yay unto the Chicken 08:48, 12 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

References[edit]

This article is largely unreferenced and could use some work in that respect. --Chris Griswold () 03:48, 10 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Totally agree, plus its still really messy too. At least alphabetise the list, guys!--Ninty 20:59, 1 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Magical Trevor's beard[edit]

What some people are taking as "beard bones" in MT 4 are actually the shoulder bones. It's pointless to say in the main article that he DOESN'T have bones in his beard, so I've taken it out. Harry Mudd 01:29, 14 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree. If you look closely you can see that the bones in question perfectly match the pointy parts of his beard. I've added the mention of the bones back in. 67.40.44.92 07:13, 27 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Suggeted MERGE from Badger Badger Badger[edit]

I'd like to suggest that Badger Badger Badger is merged into Weebl's cartoons#Badger. There is not too much extra information in Badger Badger Badger, and it is unlikely to grow into a bigger article. --h2g2bob 18:40, 30 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Disagree - This specific toon has become a point of phenomenon in its own right, spawning many references and parodies, not simply as a part of the Weebl's Stuff site. It's similar to how some songs deserve their own articles rather than just being mentioned on the article for the album. - Ugliness Man 23:40, 30 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Disagree - Ugliness is right. Badger Badger Badger clearly has way more notability than needed to deserve a page. This one silly little cartoon is HUGE. Just do a web search on "Badger". Millions of people know this cartoon, and (more important from a notability standpoint) they talk about it and reference it as though it's something everyone knows. — Randall Bart 00:13, 3 April 2007 (UTC)
  • Disagree - As has been stated, the animation has become an internet meme and is notable in its own right.--Ninty 12:59, 10 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Disagree - However the article needs re-titling as the toon is called Badgers

Trev's Own Page[edit]

I've done the Magical Trevor series its own page, feel free to add (sensibly) to it.--Ninty 20:04, 1 April 2007 (UTC) Recommended to merge Magical Trevor into the main article. Justinm1978 21:07, 30 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Merging from Magical Trevor[edit]

  • Agree Article isn't comprehensive enough to stand alone. Justinm1978 21:07, 30 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Agree I think that badgers is really the only Weebl's Stuff toon with enough external effects to warrant its own article. - Ugliness Man 00:04, 2 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Disagree I created a seperate page for the series to help get this page shortened to a neater, more manageable size. I had hoped to eventually do the same for all the animations with multiple installments, leaving this page as a list of links (with the sections for all the one-off toons left in, of course). As it is, this page is a mess.--Ninty 13:04, 10 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Disagree edit page view says article is already over sized. --The_stuart 15:33, 10 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
In response to the previous two points: if an article is too long, that simply means that we need editors to pare it down. It doesn't mean that we need to make seperate articles for selected elements, disregarding whether or not those elements warrant articles. In short, Article A being too long is never justification for Article B existing. - Ugliness Man 05:40, 11 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with this response. The article needs some serious clean-up before things are split off. The content of the Magical Trevor is mostly fluff that doesn't really add much value (hence the merging). I'd suggest getting this article pared down to what really belongs here, and then split it out from there. Justinm1978 06:10, 13 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disagree Trevor needs his own artical; I came to find info on him, but i got overwhelmed. Ithink there should be 1 artical on Weeble that links to all the toons own separate pages.--Pyrogod (talk) 18:13, 19 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Merging from Jonti Picking[edit]

  • Agree Original should be merged into this one as Weebl and the subject are the same person. Perhaps a redirect would be in order in the original article's place. Justinm1978 17:04, 3 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Disagree Jonti is not just notable for his Weebl's Stuff website and the assosiated cartoons.--Ninty 12:56, 10 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • In Favour There's no real content on the Weebl's Toons article. In fact that article is made up almost entirely of paragraphs which are simply explanations (original research?) of the Toons which you can get by a) visiting weebls-stuff website and b) watching the Toons yourself. Having them all listed and described (many of the Toons of which are not notable in and of themselves) is like having an article explaining all the various movies available at somewhere like newgrounds.com or having articles for every YouTube video ever made. The more notable shows like Webbl and Bob deserve their own articles but we don't need a text explanation of every Weebl Toon ever made. Link to the website and let people find out for themselves. This is starting to become like Pokemon and we all know what happened to those articles... Yay unto the Chicken (talk) 23:40, 19 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Scampi.JPG[edit]

Image:Scampi.JPG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 21:52, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"...and rapes Carl's time crapper"[edit]

I have noticed that this statement has been added to the sentence about Minky Steve's time machine is the Parsley Boobs section of the article multiple times now, and has each time been deleted. Normally this would be fine, but the thing is IT'S TRUE! It happens in Episode 3! Would it be OK to re-word the deleted statement and put it in? NFreak007 14:18, 11 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think part of the problem is that the phrase seems so random and ludicrous that it just seems like vandalism, and people who haven't seen the cartoon assume that's what it is. Besides, the word "rape" might be okay when someone is casually or jokingly describing the toon, but the Time Crapper is an inanimate object, not a person. Also, it's such a quick flash of a scene that currently doesn't appear to have anything to do with the storyline, so it doesn't really need to be mentioned at this point (a summary doesn't have to include every detail). As it stands, the Parsley Boobs section of the article is a brief summary of the series, there doesn't appear to be any good reason to mention this seemingly superfluous visual. - Ugliness Man 19:21, 11 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Clean-up?[edit]

Why are toons such as "mango" getting their own section and much more popular series' like "the Lord" aren't. I think this article needs to be edited to only have sections based on series' and the more popular single toons (eg Kenya). The rest should stick to the list of all toons part near the bottom. 81.98.227.10 (talk) 20:35, 7 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"Out of sync"?[edit]

The article states: music which goes more and more out of sync with each loop.

This is definitely not the case with the Magical Trevor videos, as the music is synchronized with the animation. You can sometimes tell because when the music restarts the beat comes a tiny bit earlier or later. --62.51.160.32 (talk) 14:04, 16 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

After they've been playing for ten os so minutes, they start of get out of sync. The effect isn't noticeable immdeiately, it takes a while to start to take effect. ^_^ z0rgani5t^_^ (talk) 16:21, 6 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Merge[edit]

The Badger Badger Badger article should be merged into this one since it fails the Wikipedia:Notability (web) criteria. There's only a single reliable source in the article is PC World, and that only gives it trivial coverage - mentioning it as one of 5 Internet fads.

Most of the article is devoted to parodies, none of which appear worthy of mention.

Do the right thing, people! GDallimore (Talk) 16:25, 9 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Badger badger badger[edit]

I've completed the merge of this article with Badger Badger Badger, and judging from recent edits I have at least some support in having done that. Personally, though, I would love to see it as a separate article since I think it's great and is certainly well known. But well-known does not mean notable and it isn't enough to justisy an article. Can we meet the WP:WEB requirements?

Can anyone find two non-trivial, reliable sources in order to justify having a separate article? The only source close to being reliable in the original article was a PC World link, which I've kept here, but that hardly says anything and I don't think it really counts as a non-trivial reference. Hasn't some technology/Internet culture columnist in a newspaper even mentioned the badgers? There's got to be something, but the popularity of the cartoon is working against it because a google search just brings up pages of crap. If you find any reliable links or references, start expanding the Badger section of this article until it looks worthy of a split. GDallimore (Talk) 21:52, 14 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem with Image:Badgerx3.png[edit]

The image Image:Badgerx3.png is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
  • That this article is linked to from the image description page.

sources!![edit]

This article need either 3rd party sources (a lot of them) or most of it deleted

I mean, there can be something about every animation, but it would be silly. So, if there are third party sources (better not digg articles or blogs), please provide them, or I will delete about half of the article... I mean, why have something about EVERY animation?

I guess badgers or maybe Kenya will have some references, but the rest..? --Have a nice day. Running 15:17, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The hell?[edit]

Seriously, does Wikipedia really need this? Right now, this bunch of nerdgasmic circlejerkery is about ten times as long as the articles on Theory of Relativity and Human genome taken together. Someone seriously needs to cut down on this, or I'll call Notability and maybe get rid of it altogether. --84.186.251.132 (talk) 16:50, 21 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry, but "I don't like it" is not a reason for deletion - 'calling notability' will only result in speedy keep. If you see a problem with any Wikipedia article, then fix it, don't condemn entirely unrelated articles for being shorter, longer or better or worse quality. Consider creating an account to do so. Please note that Theory of relativity is B-class on the assessment scale and Human genome is GA-class, and both appear to my eye as covering their subjects very well, particularly making use of other pages to help, so there is actually more content on those topics than on this - Special relativity alone is larger in bytes than this. CaptainVindaloo t c e 20:33, 21 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Problem is, none of it is sourced. If some 3rd party sources wont be add, i will really radically cut down the length of the article. For example, Cat Face. What is now few paragrahs, without even one citation, can be one sentence. --Have a nice day. Running 00:58, 26 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
