Optical Comparator[edit]

Types of digital comparators[edit]

Digital comparators are two types
1)Identity comparators
2)Magnitude comparators

Identity comparators show only whether two inputs are equal where as Magnitude comparators indicate which input is smaller or larger.

Digital comparators differ in terms of
•Supply voltage
•Number of bits
•Propagation delay
•Operating current
•Operating temperature

Sections removed[edit]

I took out two recently added sections with the strangely capitalized "OP Amplifier" in their headings. These seemed to be partly copied (and [1]) from the cited source and partly mangled beyond interpretability; presumably new editor User:Smurfettekla is the same as the anon who added the first one. Op-amp comparators[edit]

I'm taking a class on circuits and we're learning about op-amp comparators, including those with resistors that create hysteresis. This topic is not covered here.

Phase reversal[edit]

Near "using an operational amplifier as a comparator presents several disadvantages":

I think it is missing an item in the list - phase reversal will prevent usage of some operational amplifiers as comparators.

Source for phase reversal, e.g.

"Phase reversal occurs when a common-mode voltage, outside of the specified maximum range, causes the input stage to interact with the second stage causing an action that appears as if the input pins were reversed.".

Comparator that compares a state at different times[edit]

Can the article be edited to include the name (if any) for a comparator that compares a state (e.g., a voltage) at different times, rather than, say, comparing instantaneous voltages at two different nodes? 38.67.192.226 (talk) 23:28, 12 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

References "Figures" do not exist on page[edit]

@174.6.253.121 I also notice the second time "Figure 1" is mentioned seems like it is a different "Figure 1" than the first time "Figure 1" is mentioned:
