From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

CVA is an abbreviation for the Commando Veterans Association.

The Association is based in Great Britain and encompasses all Commandos from their origin in 1940 through to present day. Residency in Great Britain is not a requirement but direct membership is only available to persons who qualified for and served in the British Commandos.

Associate Membership for adults aged 18 and over is available and requires the sponsorship of two members (at least one of these must be a full member).

The CVA actively seeks new members to reunite with their comrades and contribute their story and/or artefacts to the Commando Archive. For those able to attend, regular Branch meetings occur throughout Britain with several major reunions every year. The CVA displays at public military events to provide the opportunity to meet and speak with Veterans, and often in conjunction with recruiting by the current serving Commandos. Kindly note the CVA is not connected with nor endorses any ‘re-enactor’ organisations.

The Commando Archives are not freely accessible to the public and resources for answering general questions are strictly limited. The CVA would particularly appreciate hearing from any Commando Veterans.

Thank you for your interest.
