Area[edit]

What territory is the area figure describing in the infobox, and what territory is the listed populations for? I'm not sure this has ever been explicitly stated anywhere in the article. The infobox gives one figure; the Demographics section gives an area of 497.1 square miles...what is all of this, and how do we standardize it so we don't have different figures for different definitions clashing with one another?
