Zit to Spit[edit]

An anonymous contributor has stated that Zit & Spit were involved in legal action. However several characters appear in both comics. I suspect that the company which bought Zit out also owned Spit and so just absorbed the best characters. Does anyone know more about this? --Vodex 21:26, 10 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

9 years later, but, no, that's not the case. Zit lost the case they brought against Spit, for "passing off", basically accusing Spit of being an imitation. They lost. Both comics carried on for a few years after, Spit in particular limping on for ages with a complete lack of artists (just the one guy, the editor, drawing nearly all of them, and they weren't funny!) and readers.
Much of what's known of Zit online seems to be based on the original research of one person who only read one or two copies of the early issues. A little while through, they had a complete change of management, and a lot of new artists and strips ended up in there too. The later comic is much, much, better than the tatty ripoff it started off as. I believe Russel Church had nothing to do with it after the early, rubbish, days. 188.29.164.148 (talk) 23:21, 25 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
