Mother[edit]

In original story, there is no description about death of Gon's Mother. The original story just tells us Gon lived alone. What is reference about her death. ('got shot to death', 'Her last words to Gon were Be strong, Gon!')? And in original story, it is used letters of '小狐', not always meaning a kid but merely a small fox. In another story, the author used letters of '子狐', evidently meaning a kid. He used different letter very consciously, so that readers must be very careful. ---Q_Bay

I read only the english translation, and do not know if there were any differences. Also, i do not know if there are different editions of the Japanese version. In English, for example, Mark Twain is often edited for modern standards of political correctness, so something may also have happened to Japanese books. In any case i don't know what version is true. Sorry -- Chris 73 | Talk 08:51, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Gon's mother is absent in the original story, but her character was created for the animated movie. She is killed by a hunter at the beginning of the movie. I have not read the English translation, but the difference between the movie and the original story may be the cause of this confusion.--Nipisiquit (talk) 16:43, 24 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Purpose that came to village[edit]

In original story, Gon is a lonely fox. He came to a village and broke the red pepper chips, and set fire to the rapeseed field. Gon makes an effort to change his life starting with the death of Hyoju's mother.... He was misunderstood and shot. However, Gon finally succeeded in obtaining those who understood.

The first edition of Nankichi is written that Gon felt satisfied. in the last scene.

The reason why the fox came to the village was lonelyness not food.--124.208.165.11 (talk) 04:05, 23 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
