Unless somebody can add something of more significance, this page should be moved to http://wiktionary.wikipedia.org/

Why not redirect this and Primatologist to Primates, which is the right place? It is also an article that seriously needs expansion. Ortolan88

Should this line: "Before molecular biology, the father of modern taxonomy, Carolus Linnaeus, organized natural objects into kinds." refer to genus and species instead of "kinds"? I've never once see the animal kingdom grouped into "kinds" except on blogs. I didn't even see it mentioned in my Anthropology class, which covered Linnaeus' contribution to Evolution (I admit that portion was brief though).

Grooming disambiguation[edit]

In section From Grooming to Speaking the term grooming is wikified, but I don't understand which type of grooming this refers to. The actual grooming article is a disambiguation page, so it would be nice if someone corrected this, since I am not sure how to do it right, i.e. which article this should point to. --Biblbroks^Talk2me 19:32, 27 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What is the STS approach?[edit]

In the section "Primatology in Sociobiology" it says, near the end of the paragraph, that the "sts approach" stretches beyond the realm of studying apes... What is the STS approach? There's no explanation. Should we mark this article as in need of advice from an expert on the subject? It certainly needs work in my eyes, but I don't know where to start other than to correct the numerous spelling and punctuation errors.72.78.29.132 (talk) 19:00, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This page really needs better sourcing, and better writing[edit]

There are assertions made without specific cited sources, which could easily be OR. While the sources claimed at the bottom of the page seem credible, there are no footnotes on the whole page. The only option anyone has is to read all those books and then check the page to see whether it is in line with them. I'm surprised that an article about a rather important science is written so "unscientifically."72.78.29.132 (talk) 19:24, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Wording[edit]

The wording in this article is very diplorable. This artice is unclear what is a primate. I thought humans were primates but the wording here says different. For example towards the bottom of the page, quote: "Primate behavior, like human behavior...". What is that? Would you address this the same way if this were an article on cats (ex: "Feline behavior, like lion behavior")? No it would simply be "Feline behavior"! This needs to be rephrased to prevent sounding like you're segerating humans from other primates like they don't belong in the group. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Acdcguy91 (talk • contribs) 03:13, 16 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
