Truth[edit]
I awoke, and was in a dream. And in my dream i was standing in a white, featureless, barren field. And in the center of this limitless space hung two horizontal lines, suspended in nothing and by nothing. The wind howled in my ears, and pushed me and the dust along the ground, but the lines never moved or varied. Nothing varied here, the wind and the dust and the lines and the field were constant and unchanging. And i was alone in this wilderness.
"Go," said my companion, "and stand beside the lines." So i went and stood near the lines. "Look, " said my companion, "and tell me what you see." I looked and said, "I see a desolate unchanging field, and a desolate unchanging sky, and unchanging dust, and two unchanging black lines in this desolate place."
"Look now, along the lines, and tell me what you see." And so i looked and said, "In the horizon, the lines meet."
"Run," said my companion.
And so i ran along the lines in the desolate unchanging field, and the wind howled in my ears and pushed the dust along the ground. And lo, the lines were parallel, and never met.
