We need a standard way of indicating which ecoregion a plant or animal species is found in, since exact borders shift. See meta:Ecoregion_DTD.

It is important to note that the WWF did not develope the Ecoregion concept. A more thorough discussion of the concept, its origins, and the current state of affairs would be entirely more appropriate. As it stands, this article is quite imcomplete.

Yes there are many ecoregion delineation systems. The WWF's descriptions include references to the other major systems and how they fit, or don't fit, the WWF's delineations. Perhaps the most well-known system, now getting a bit old, is Bailey's ecoregions.Pfly 04:47, 22 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
