Meaning of name?[edit]

Anyone knowledgeable in Hocąąk (Ho-chunk) to know what this community's name means? Rev. C. Verwyst in 1911 suggests Kekoshka [sic] comes from the Ojibwe giigoozensikaa meaning "it is abundant with little fish (minnows)" but other than a small Potawatomi contingency, the region Kekoskee is in is not Ojibwe-Ottawa-Potawatomi territory, and so this Ojibwe name origin likelihood of its name is suspect.
