Untitled[edit]

EB says: unincorporated village in Brookhaven town (township), Suffolk county, southeastern New York, U.S. Located on the northern shore of Long Island, on Stony Brook Harbor, it was settled by Boston colonists in 1655. In the 19th century the shipbuilding industry flourished there. --JimWae 04:37, 2004 Dec 11 (UTC)

EB is wrong. There are no "unincorporated villages" in N.Y. The best we can do is to call it a hamlet. Village is misleading and plain wrong. Nelson Ricardo 05:02, Dec 11, 2004 (UTC)

Stan Lee? No idea, cite it please? Zipmcoccup 22:45, 26 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Problem is, the RESIDENTS and LOCAL BUSINESS PEOPLE have long, long called it a "village." Three times they tried to incorporate it as such! But the Big Powerful Men in Albany say it is not a village. So who ya gonna follow? Are you a populist or an elitist? Dr.Bastedo (talk) 08:09, 21 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

On a saner note, some internal fine-tuning is needed for the EXTERNAL LINKS of (1) the "Ward Melville Heritage Organization", (2) "The Long Island Museum of...", and (3) the "Stony Brook Village."

The "Show preview" SAYS all is fine, but each time after the page is saved, it looks like a MESS! Dr.Bastedo (talk) 07:32, 21 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
