  • Keep. Lists are not replaceable with Categories. RickK 21:23, Oct 25, 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete. I disagree in this case. The purpose of this list is now served by Category:Locomotives. The page was originally intended to be a list of Wikipedia articles about locomotives and locomotive types. Since all of the articles in the list are now contained in the category, plus many more that have been created and not added to the list page itself, the article is moot. slambo 21:58, 25 Oct 2004 (UTC)
I agree with Rick: lists are a useful place to park whatever hasn't got an article yet; therefore I vote Delete: once everything on the list has made it into the category, the list is useless, unless of course we actively funnel more unwritten articles into it and keep the process going. — Bill 22:18, 25 Oct 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete. I was the article's creator; its functionality has been fully superseded by categories. It is redundant. Not all lists are replaceable by categories, but this one is. —Morven 00:15, Oct 26, 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep but rewrite as a standard list, not a list limited to already existing articles. Rmhermen 15:35, Oct 29, 2004 (UTC)
  • Ordinarily I'd vote to keep, as lists have the great virtue of allowing one to use Related Changes. However, seeing as how there are detailed sub-lists which allow that function, I'm inclined to agree with the list's creator that the very specific purpose of this list is served by the category.   • Rewrite as a complete list of locomotives, possibly ordering by country and/or country so that it's more useful than a category would be? Joe D (t) 22:55, 30 Oct 2004 (UTC)
