Source for Susan Richardson "Eight Is Enough" claim?[edit]

Now, "Eight Is Enough" has been the subject of hoaxes before, including the Might Magazine hoax claiming that an actor had O.D.'d when he was actually alive. With this in mind, along with the bizarre nature of this story, I went looking and couldn't find a single newspaper article about Susan Richardson's alleged kidnapping claim. Related Controversy[edit]

Ah, is this about international child custody case? If that is the case, i don't think it is actually "related Controversy". FWBOarticle 12:26, 30 Aug 2004 (UTC)

Firstly, these "abduction" is not strictly illegal. When the custody of kids are granted to different side of parents by different country, then the matter fall into what you call "conflict of law". And Japan hasn't signe Hage Convention which grant the precedent on the court which the kids initially lives before the abduction. To add further, in japan, parent removing children is not legally classified as "kidnapping". Anway, I recommendt to start article on "international custody abduction of chidren" where this issue is rightly belong. FWBOarticle 00:04, 31 Aug 2004 (UTC)

I think there are problem with attribution. Albert Fujimori was not abducted to Japan. His problem is extradition. Secondly, equating parent stealing children with North Korean Abuduction is problematic and bit tasteless to say the least. For the North Korean case, all of the abductee were kidnapped against their will while child stealing depends on each individual case. Also at least two abuductee where killed by the regime and several others have died mysteriously of "natural cause". We don't bring up animal right issue in Holocause article even though PETA have said that both are related. I'm not saying you can't present the issue. I'm saying that the issue of child stealing belong to somewhere else. FWBOarticle 10:52, 31 Aug 2004 (UTC)

Have the Japanese died any earlier than the average North Korean population? I don't know if North Korea was able to feed its population, including the Japanese abductees, during the time period.

university professor nearly kidnapped in Denmark?[edit]

It state in the articel that In June 1980, a Korean university professor was also nearly kidnapped in Denmark. Where is the references on that? I have googled and searched for hours but I have found nothing.

Megumi Yokota's "suicide"...[edit]

The focus on the fact that Pyongyang changed the date seems to be almost implying that they're lying, which would certainly seem to be the case, but this article uses the word "corrected" instead of "changed" in a manner that implies that March '94 is the "actual" date. We also need to get the information straight regarding the DNA tests. They are not mentioned in the intro; then they are later determined as false; then later they are called inconclusive. Shiokaze: possible inclusion?[edit]

According to the 2007 edition of Passport to World Band Radio (and is confirmed in the 2007 edition of WRTH) the Japanese government operates a radio station called "Shiokaze" (Sea Breeze), which is directly related to this. How can this fit?

Neutrality[edit]

I have to say that this article is very neutral and doesn't take evil north koreans to task enough to be honest. The neutrality dispute label on the article needs to be removed and I suspect it was only put there in the first place by North Korean spies to discredit an article that exposes their crimes. Have to agree witht he content of the above comment, if not with the emotion. The articel is very neutral - it gives both sides of the Megumi DNA incident for examle - and I would move that the neutrality dispute label is removed. This is compunded by the fact there is not a discussion on this page re neutrality.

Reasoning behind abductions[edit]
