I don't know. That was all the information I could find when I wrote the original article. Why don't you do some research and see if you can find out? :) RenesisX

This article makes no sense. First it says that .dd was never put in the root. Then it says that it was later "taken out of use". How can it be taken out of use if wasn't ever in use? (For what it's worth, I tried several years ago to determine if .dd, like .cs, had ever existed. I came to the conclusion that it hadn't, although I was never 100% certain about this.) --Zundark 14:39, 21 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

That's a list of language subtags, as is clearly stated in the URL itself and is obvious from the content of the page. --Zundark 13:50, 20 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

.dd is not listed in the Root-Zone Whois Information of the IANA. Are there anyone able to contact IANA about this question? -- AnyFile 08:57, 24 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

E-mail server[edit]

The Usenet discussion this article points to, mentions rz.uni-jena.dd as an e-mail server connected to the net in the DDR - and that the Humboldt University and Freie Universität in Berlin was connected by a 9.600 kbps modem. Was DDR ever connected to the Internet?
