UKCider[edit]

I note that there is no article on UKCider and that you appear to be the head of that group. With regard to your edit of Cider, can you make a case for UKCider's notability? How many members does it have? --Stlemur 20:59, 26 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Stlemur, my case for the inclusion of UKCider's definition for Real Cider is that ukcider is the organisation dedicated to the promotion of real cider (and closely related real perry). As I'm sure you are aware, CAMRA is overwhelmingly concerned with Real Ale, as it's name implies, and ale is very different to cider. The insistance on the inclusion of dead yeast, for example is nonsense when applied to cider which has more in common with winemaking than brewing. Ukcider has steadily grown since being set up in 1999 and has a membership mailing list with 368 subscribers, including most of the leading small scale commercial cider producers in the UK. The ukcider wiki, which was only launched 12 months ago, already contains details of over 690 pubs where real cider is obtainable - surpassing the printed Good cider guide.--Aroberts 21:40, 26 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to West End theatre. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product.
