Reverts[edit]

Regardless of the ongoing edit conflicts you have, please do not remove votes of other users on vote pages (in this case Wikipedia:Votes for deletion/List of ethnic stereotypes). Thank you -- Chris 73 Talk 04:19, Jan 29, 2005 (UTC)

* "I heard a news report -- some lawyer in Florida wanna take us to court. Somebody tell that country-ass hick -- to go suck a dead man's dick." - Geto Boys, referring to Thompson

Your comment on why it should stay: "this quote shows other people's views of Thompson as an anti-rap alarmist";

No, it doesn't; it just says that somebody really doesn't like him. I'm removing it again. If you think it should stay, we can request a third party's opinion on the matter. Sockatume 15:58, 14 Feb 2005 (UTC)

  • It also says the reason they don't like him. I didn't write "The Geto Boys hate Jack Thompson". I wrote a direct quote from one of their songs which was a response to his anti-rap campaign. Not everyone knows that this quote was aimed at Jack Thompson. There doesn't seem to be any real reason that it shouldn't be here. Ariel Sharon's page includes quotes Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush made about him, how is this different? CPS 03:03, 15 Feb 2005 (UTC)
    • "It also says the reason they don't like him." Only so far in that it says he's wanting to sue them. It doesn't really say he's suing them because he's an anti-rap alarmist. I reckon the things Thompson says do a better job of showing that. Sockatume 17:59, 15 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Removing comments[edit]

Please desist from removing my comments yet leaving yours remaining. You have no right to accuse me of making personal attacks when you are engaging in the same thing. Megan1967 04:42, 24 Mar 2005 (UTC)

  • If I ignore you, will you go away? CPS 04:58, 24 Mar 2005 (UTC)
    • You've been blocked for 24 hours for deleting other people's comments. You were warned, but you instead chose to delete those comments from your Talk page. If, when you return, you continue with such behavior, you will be blocked for 48 hours, etc., etc., etc. RickK 05:45, Mar 24, 2005 (UTC)
      • Thank you, RickK. I think I finally understand. I'm not allowed to delete things other people say about me, even though you're allowed to block me from editing entirely. I'm glad you could clear things up. CPS 01:06, 1 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Hi CPS I hope you don't mind some friendly advice. Removing other's peoples comments is a very controversial thing to do. We only do it in clear cases of personal attack e.g. "you cunt" etc. Even then, it's a bad idea for the victim to do it themselves. Someone critisizing your behaviour (rather than yourself) is not a personal attack. Removing critisms is a big no no, which is why RickK blocked you. It's clear that you and Megan1967 don't like each other, I advise you to ignore any comments that get your goat rather than deleting them. Cheers! • Good evening Theresa. It's not a matter of not liking each other. Quite frankly I don't know who CPS is until those comments made on VfD, when I then checked his background. Seriously if you're going to imply someone is "narrow minded" and then engage in the type of tactics seen on VfD and elsewhere on Wikipedia (both under CPS and his former IP edits), don't be surprised to find other editors not impressed by what happened. I really don't wish to continue it - it's a waste of time. It's quite plain to see CPS has his own hands full with admins on Wikipedia taking a "disliking" to his editing style. PS I didnt request RickK to take that action on my behalf btw. Megan1967 10:35, 24 Mar 2005 (UTC)
  • I did the only thing I thought would stop Megan1967 from trying to get my attention. I thought she would be able to take the hint, I guess I was wrong. CPS 01:06, 1 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
