This page is intended to be a consolidation of the many chronic stubs that have been created (some by me) for characters in the Book of Genesis, or which are still pending creation but it's only a matter of time. I hope we will eventually have these for most of the historical books of the Old Testament. Andrewa 05:21, 4 Sep 2004 (UTC)

I think two things about this subject

  • It plausibly should be extended to include the minor characters in the rest of the torah (which are small in number, comparatively)
  • This list is going to get VERY VERY large.

We need to decide how each entry should be constructed. I would propose that it initially be

  1. Name
  2. Meaning
  3. Initial biblical reference
  4. Any other info in the initial reference
  5. Any other references

I also think that this list should be split up into

  • Minor Edomites
  • Minor descendents of Israel
  • Others (probably could do with splitting up further) FDuffy (talk · contribs)
Name, meaning and brief synopsis of occurrence in the Bible is OK. If there is much more on a certain person, that person should probably have a dedicated article.
Do you think the minor Edomites are actually worth listing - i.e. does the mention of a name in the Bible automatically make them notable? I do actually have my doubts. JFW | T@lk 21:14, 7 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Uzziel is listed on the Fallen Angel page however 'it' is not listed as being a demon here. I can't really comment on it because i dont know enough about it so I leave it in your hands. --Shimirel 01:30, 25 February 2006 (UTC)

Suggested page move[edit]

Perhaps this page can be moved to Minor figures in the Book of Genesis. "Characters" sounds like we are dealing with a work of fiction, which is POV in this case. --Eliyak T·C 22:39, 26 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • On second thought, many minor characters in the Bible are mentioned several times in various books (in genealogical lists). So I think it would be best if everything went at List of minor Biblical figures. --Eliyak T·C 22:46, 26 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
