Skateboarding[edit]

Skateboarding is the greatest thing in the world. If anyone were to say otherwise, they should be cursed to ten thousand sledges. Many people confuse themselves and others by saying that skateboarding is a sport (which it is not!), skateboarding is an art, a style, and for the determined ones, a way of life. You don’t have to sign up to be on a team, or work out to meet regulations. There’s no competition against others, you can skate all by yourself and still bust out. The only goals are sticking the tricks you want to lay down and satisfying yourself. And you don’t have to skate to do tricks, (yet it’s the greatest), but you can just ride to ride.

Skateboarding is good for so many reasons; it’s a great way to get around (street surfing), ripping on ramps and slashing coping is sick, hitting up rails and busting hammers down gaps (one of my favorites). Skateboarding can be as simple or as technical as you want to make it, whether you’re just cruising or slamming kickflip-front-boards down nine-stair rails, as long as you’re satisfied with what you’re doing.

Skateboarding has so much history and information about that I could personally go on for ever about how sick it is, but if you’ve followed me this far, stop reading right now. Grab your board (or get one), and go outside and skate!
