ArtificioSapiens is a user handle that comes from a recommendation I have regarding an appropriate biological name for conscious machines. The full name would be Machina Artificio Sapiens. This name would link to our current criteria of biological nomenclature.

My own work is in theater. I am writing a book on human and machine consciousness based on the concept that a theater building is a fractal expansion of the brain, being a community brain. The book goes on to explore the political meaning of democracy from the vantage point of brain function as theater. This is why I am particularly intrigued by Wikipedia. It is a living expression of brain function in that contending organism (naturally occurring genetic algorithms) attempt to find coherent meaning through constant editing.

My name is Peter Charlot. I live in Volcano Village on the island of Hawaii on top of the most active volcano in the world. As the I'iwi bird flies, my family lives about 6 miles from an eruption that has lasted over 20 years.
