Not all QCs are solicitors. Since 1994 solicitors have been appointed QCs. Mrs Harman was appointed one upon becoming Solicitor General. All AGs/SGs are so appointed.

The BBC mentioned recently that Tony Blair calling the _legality question_ starting the last gulf war _outlawed by all internation laws; the Attorney General of England responded:It could become a legal problem.

The page about Attorney Generals does not actually say what the Attorney general is, what he/she/it does, how they get their job, how they are monitored, etc. etc. In short, it replaces one name "Attorney General" by a description that legal people in the UK probably imagine, in their innocence, that they understand. Criticism section?[edit]

Wikilinked names[edit]

Why include names in the intro?[edit]

Ironholds@ I have no idea what you are talking about when you say "zero coverage". Of course it can be included, but not right at the top. You could right the entire article without even mentioning who the title holder is and the article would sill make perfect sense. That is what I mean by secondary. Just like you could right about the institution of Mayor of [city] without citing that person. I am not saying ignore, it, I am just saying not so close to the top. Look at Mayor of New York City (not mentioned in intro) and President of the United States (mentioned right at bottom of lengthy intro). But perhaps I am wrong, I see quite a few other insances where the name is cited right at the top. Perhaps there should be some WP guidance on this? The current holder gets a single sentence, one-clause long. I don't think this is important or disputed enough a topic to necessitate site-wide guidance. Ironholds (talk) 17:53, 24 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
