What relationship was he to the Duke of Buccleuch? RickK 01:05, Jan 22, 2005 (UTC)

He appears to have been the great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandson of William Douglas, 1st Earl of Queensberry through his third son, the Hon. Sir Archibald Douglas of Dornock. The Dukes of Buccleuch and Queensberry are descended from the 1st Earl's eldest son, James Douglas, 2nd Earl of Queensberry, and the Marquesses of Queensberry are descended from his second son, Colonel the Hon. Sir William Douglas of Kelhead. If my calculations are correct, that would have made Lord Douglas of Kirtleside a ninth cousin once removed of Walter Montagu Douglas Scott, 8th Duke of Buccleuch and 10th Duke of Queensberry and a ninth cousin of Francis Douglas, 11th Marquess of Queensberry. Error in death date[edit]

Born December 1893 and died October 1969, Sholto Douglas would have been 75 at his death and not 46 as the infobox says here. Hungoverdrawn (talk) 13:45, 27 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect parameter now corrected. Well spotted! Dormskirk (talk) 16:28, 27 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
