This page needs ...[edit]

  • additional Web links, maybe a T4 enthusiast could provide some?
  • more detailed engine information

Touareg replaced Eurovan?[edit]

I inserted a fact template (generating a "citation needed" note) in the introduction where it is claimed that the Touareg replaced the Eurovan. Was the launch of the Touareg a coincidence with the end of the Eurovan in the U.S., or was it really an intended replacement? --Serge 19:14, 16 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

From a European standpoint, the Touareg and Eurovan have nothing at all to do with each other. I vote coincidence. --Ermel 16:55, 2 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Title of the article?[edit]

I realize that the old T4 was called Eurovan in the US. However, since VW no longer sells any car under that name (the T5 is not for sale in the US) wouldn't it be better to rename the article? My proposals are (in order of preference):

  1. Multivan - this is the name of the MPV version in Continental Europe
  2. Transporter - this is the name of the ubiquitous commercial version of the car
  3. Caravelle - this is the UK name of the Multivan/Eurovan, it was used in other European countries for the T4 model.

An additional option is to create two separate articles for the commercial and MPV versions. What do you think? CheersOsli73 (talk) 15:16, 20 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think all the Transporter articles should be melded into one article like on German Wiki if we want to separate them to each generation we should title it like this Volkswagen Transporter T1, Volkswagen Transporter T2 etc.
Stand alone models like California and its spec levels can afford to have their own article as it is known by this name everywhere.
Just my thoughts on the subject--VWphaetonfan (talk) 05:21, 19 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

In an attempt to clean up this article I believe it is necessary to create this page.--VWphaetonfan (talk) 10:36, 13 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism[edit]

This article seems to be a target of vandalism. A user has repeatedly removed Philippines from the list of countries where T4 was produced, although the information is correct and has a citation. ComradeUranium (talk) 16:08, 11 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
