FNORD[edit]

Hi! This is Icarus!, being non-Wiki (I'm not logged in...), saying thanx for the work on the Discordianism page! Keep it up!24.176.20.60 16:15, 19 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! I've noticed your past interest in Wikipedia:Mind Benders and wanted to share the following announcement with you! I've taken over the responsibilities of Mind Benders, and the page will now be regularly updated. Right now, the pre-round is open (it's more of a creative artistic competition), and round one will open soon (the questions are done, we just need to wait for the pre-round to begin/finish)! So why not check it out? I'll keep you updated! Thanks, Flcelloguy | A note? | Desk 01:41, 21 Jun 2005 (UTC)

P.S. Feel free to pass this news on to other Wikipedians.

Wikibooks:Programming:C -/- -/- (Image)[edit]

Txs, for taking the time to upload the image :)

It seems there was a forced merge (that I will try to fight) of the work, the new page shows a placeholder for the picture, but at least in my browser it fails to load, but as someone has commented on it (the picture). Probably it's a wikibooks problem or a format problem (I do use IE :( )...

Corruption[edit]

I saw your note on the Bihar talk page, which I find in extremely poor taste. There is so much good that is there which is missing, and you can only think of corruption!

First show the guts to put on Karnataka page what Dharam Singh is doing to undo the good work of RK Hegde and SM Krishna. Or maybe how the Sandalwood smuggler Veerappan brought the Karnataka state to its knees - how the powers that be were hands in glove with this outlaw - and show this patronising attitude. Eliza Dolots 9:12, 25 September 2005 (UTC)

I see that you have removed the one sentence I placed on that article. I -- who have never visited Bihar -- am not sure whether it is a stereotype or not. If you feel so, please include that in the article... I was just trying to make it look more encyclopaedic.
BTW, I am suspecting that you inferred that I was a resident of Karnataka by some way or the other, and I would like to inform you that I contributed to two paragraphs on the "infrastractural woes" section of the article on Bangalore, as opposed to the one sentence on the corruption in Bihar. --GatesPlusPlus 10:52, 25 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

    Replaceable fair use Image:Andre_lamothe.jpg[edit]

    Replaceable fair use
    Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Andre_lamothe.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

    1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
    2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 7 days after this notification, per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MER-C 13:34, 10 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

    Orphaned non-free media (Image:T3DProg.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:T3DProg.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. NotifyBot (talk) 13:16, 17 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings. You are receiving this note as you are a member of this WikiProject. Currently there is not much of activity in the project and I am hoping to revive the project with your help. I have made a few changes to the project page Diff. You are welcome to make suggestions of improvement / changes in the design. I have also make a proposal to AutoTagg articles with {{WikiProject Computing}} for the descendant wikiprojects articles also. Please express your opinion here -- TinuCherian (Wanna Talk?) - 12:48, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

    Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
