Gone With the Wind[edit]

There should an asterisk and major clarification for GWTW. For one, it only premiered in 1939. But even then, it wasn't really released in 1940 either - it was shown that year in roadshow version and hence despite some box office report from March of 1940 could not possibly have made $198M from those screenings. It's prime year was 1941 when it went into general release and sold an estimated 60 million tickets that year alone. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 172.248.214.103 (talk) 22:05, 7 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Is this article about 1939 in Holywood, or may I add films from other parts of the world as well? Halibutt 17:37, 31 Mar 2004 (UTC)

Box office estimates[edit]

The box office chart obviously mixes some values taken as of March 1940 and others that include re-releases to the present. If the information is available, I think it would be interesting to see how the films did in their first releases.Arnold Rothstein1921 (talk) 14:10, 26 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
