This is just a quick note to say "hi" and welcome you to Wikipedia. I noticed your changes to the reparative therapy page have been reverted. I would just like to point your to the various pages on editing content on Wikipedia, particularly Wikipedia:How to edit a page and Wikipedia:How_to_edit_a_page. Particularly I would like to point out that major edits that are uncommented and are not discussed or explained on talk pages tend to get reverted. It is considered good wikiequette to discuss your changes on the talk page[1]. I look forward to reading you on Wikipedia. --Axon 09:23, 24 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

User page[edit]

Note that you can not make your page Richman9. If you would like to have your own user page, create it here: User:Richman9. -- Eagleamn 18:55, May 31, 2005 (UTC)

Note that I've taken the liberty to move his page here. Cheers! CobaltBlueTony 18:58, May 31, 2005 (UTC)

user page[edit]

Instead of creating an entry about yourself, facts about you can be placed on your user page, such as this one. This keeps clear the distinction between persons of interest, and actual user/editors, who may or may not also be persons of interest. To keep things fair and neutral, you may wish to have someone else write an entry about you if you feel your work is noteworthy enough to merit an encyclopedia article. Outside sources will help ensure your article's place in Wikipedia. CobaltBlueTony 18:57, May 31, 2005 (UTC)

Sorry, thanks for fixing it, Cobaltbluetony

Evergreen and ex-gay[edit]

Is Evergreen an ex-gay organization? What does ex-gay even mean? According to the ex-gay page, it is only used for people who were homosexual, but now consider themselves heterosexual. That doesn't seem to fit Evergreen's emphasis on diminishing homosexual attractions instead of eliminating them. Should I spend time trying to distance Evergreen from the ex-gay movement, or expand the ex-gay definition to include Evergreen's goals. I have a similar problem with reparative therapy. A lot of the information on Evergreen's web page is looking at the causes of homosexuality and what can be done to overcome that. Is that considered reparative therapy? Right now the definition of reparative therapy includes any method to diminish homosexual desires, which would include Evergreen, I guess. Should I work on expanding reparative therapy to include Evergreen's goals or distance reparative therapy from what Evergreen is doing? I would love to talk more about this if you want to email me.Joshuajohanson 18:29, 15 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Joshua, thanks for all the time you spend in expanding and balancing these entries. Evergreen shouldn't be associated very strongly with reparative therapy. In the general sense, I guess you could say that reparative therapy includes any method to diminish homosexual desires, but "reparative therapy" is also a specialized form of therapy advocated by Joe Nicolossi (see Reparative Therapy of Male Homosexuality: A New Clinical Approach. Evergreen doesn't advocate reparative therapy or any other particular kind of therapy.
I agree with the idea of presenting more names and stories of people who have dealt successfully with homosexuality. I like your link to the Evergreen's testimonies page. I also added a reference to the Place in the Kingdom book that has lots of personal stories and also to the stories on PeopleCanChange.com. richman9 23:11, 16 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Edits on my sandbox[edit]

Hey. I saw you made some changes on my sandbox User:Joshuajohanson/Homosexuality and the LDS Church. I'm fine with that, but just so you know, I actually already created a page for God Loveth His Children. Any changes that you make to my sandbox will only be seen by me. I put the changes you made onto the correct page. Sometimes I forget people can actually see that and I get sloppy at times.Joshuajohanson (talk) 08:30, 27 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image for Larry L. Richman[edit]

Mr. Richman, you may want to make yourself familiar with the wp:OTRS process for WikiMedia projects, and in particular OTRS for Commons, in relation to File:Larry-L-Richman.jpg, the image you recently added to Larry L. Richman. I see at commons:User talk:Richman9 that this image has been deleted at least twice previously; hopefully using the OTRS process this time would avoid a repeat experience. Unfortunately a statement such as the one you made here is insufficient in establishing both your identity as well as the copyright status of an clearly protected work. You also may not have seen that reply to your request after it was archived, as the archived replies are somewhat buried. -- 208.81.184.4 (talk) 16:58, 6 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
