Asterix and the Vikings[edit]

Whether the context indicates Iceland or not, it was not colonized until much later & the Asterix stories are consistent wrt historical facts (tho' Astrix himself may do things sooner than history records) ... I don't know whether you'll read this at all, but Viking civilization did not exist in the form as depicted in the movie at all in the timeframe where Asterix exists (1. century BC). Echnin 21:56, 17 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

of course not - all the civilizations are parodies of modern stereotype (the peoples inhabiting Europe in 50BC in general had no connection to the modern countries they parody) - still, they stick to the areas actually colonized/inhabited so I really don't think calling it Iceland in the description (or Norway for that matter) is appropos - tho' a note indicating that it implies Iceland would be.--Invisifan 22:37, 17 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
