- I'm puzzled as to why this redirect should be deleted. Several articles link to it and that makes it seem plausible that others could look for that page or link to that page. Seems pretty typical of the reason why redirect pages should exist. Michael Hardy 21:16, 28 Apr 2005 (UTC)
- I'm still new to this process and it may just be ignorance on my part. My assumption is that all links to the iridium page will redirect automatically to the iridis one. Am I wrong? addesso 21:21, 28 Apr 2005 (UTC)
- Yes. I've fixed the various links to the redirect page. But even if nothing links there, it may be a good thing to keep the redirect page in case other users link to it later, because they don't know the article is under the other title. Sometimes when I create a new article, I try to think of as many possible alternative names, misnomers, common misspellings, etc., as I can, and create redirect pages with those titles, so that if anyone later links to them, they will find the new article. Not only does that help users find information they're looking for, but it avoids needless duplication. Michael Hardy 21:31, 28 Apr 2005 (UTC)
