Gay?[edit]

He is listed at List of famous gay, lesbian or bisexual people.

And this article is in Category:Gay, lesbian or bisexual people. I think that's enough, since Amenábar's sexuality isn't any part of what makes him encyclopaedic in the same way as, say, Peter Tatchell or Daniel Guérin. --Ngb 12:30, 4 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Alejandro Amenabar denied having claimed to be gay. This can be seen, spoken by him to video-reporter, in the making-off included in "The Sea Inside" DVD released in Spain by Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment in 2005. --77.225.33.147 (talk) 22:19, 29 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Chilean film directors[edit]

I don't think he ever directed a film in Chile, so he should only be considered a Spanish film director (categories). Paulo Oliveira 09:35, 6 Jun 2005 (UTC)

he was born in Santiago de Chile and had a Chilean dad, he also now is a Chilean passport holder. He is thus Chilean and a film director, so while the title 'Film directors who have Chilean passports' would be more accurate, as he hasn't directed Chilean films (you're right), that category would be ridikulous.

Well, this is not ridiculous, as his origins do not imply that he MUST do his filming in his own country. There are plenty of examples where dual origins are being mentioned in a self-evident way. A good example is Charles Aznavour, being recognized as french-armenian (and he was born in Paris and does not have a primary armenian nationality) --81.210.154.194 (talk) 19:12, 17 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

What did he direct?[edit]

The intro says he's a director, and that he only directed 4 films, but the filmography lists 10 or more films. Could someone mark which films in his filmography he directed? Gronky 11:41, 29 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have modified the list according to imdb. Some of the films which appeared were not directed by him, as he just did the music of them, so they aren´t part of his filmography —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.158.73.177 (talk) 02:33, 3 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think above is abuse, modifing page to be incorrect. Signed with IP address, NOT a user name. I know his directorial listing is longer than 4; believe the intro to be incorrect. 01:39, 5 September 2008 (UTC)~ —Preceding unsigned comment added by Wfoj2 (talkcontribs)

Future work[edit]

This section refers to a movie already in exhibition and a movie he turned out, so it should be removed, unless someone has info on some real future work. Gazilion (talk) 10:45, 21 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
