they formed in 194? looks like the date got truncated. could somebody who knows fix this? clarkk 10:17, 9 Oct 2004 (UTC)

The first paragraph does not read well. Pop band; rock and roll band; rock act; international pop hit - as opposed to international hit (The Seekers) - what exactly is the best ?!

The article is full of good intentions. But it needs better shape, a brief discography, better wiki linkage, and a decent editor. I do not know enough to contribute fully... but someone out there does !

A matter of opinion, I suppose, but the BeeGees were an Australian pop band that had their first hit in '66 I think. "Best" is debatable. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.253.80.69 (talk) 22:08, 25 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

"They are regarded as the greatest Australian pop band of the 1960s..."[edit]

That's an ENORMOUS statement to be making without a single supporting reference! The Bee Gees could easily be considered "...the greatest Australian pop band of the 1960s", so the claim seems dubious to me. Perhaps "considered by many" would be more appropriate? Either way a reference needs to be provided, otherwise the statement will have to change. Furthermore, the claim of them "...echoing the Beatles' success in Britain" is also a pretty big statement to be making without a reference. What does it mean exactly? It could be read to mean that they were as popular as the Beatles, which clearly wasn't the case. I think something needs to change there too. Discussion? Good point! Not sure why I hadn't seen this before... I put tags after this statement in the lede. Ckruschke (talk) 11:50, 18 May 2016 (UTC)Ckruschke[reply]

Hostile Audience in Orange?[edit]

What happened in Orange ? Why was some of the audience ‘hostile’ enough to stop the contest. 2001:44B8:3102:BB00:24A6:BBD8:8BC1:F418 (talk) 02:17, 9 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
