What is a Black Album chart?[edit]

In the article there is a reference to "Billboard Music Chart's Pop Album and Black Album charts". I can't find any explanation to this use of the phrase "Black Album", neither in this article nor in the articles on Billboard or Black Album. -Ulla — 12:39, 28 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Saturday Night Fever (soundtrack) → Saturday Night Fever: The Original Movie Sound Track – Saturday Night Fever is the title of the movie, so per WP:NATURALDIS we need to disambiguate. First we consider: "Natural disambiguation: Using an alternative name that the subject is also commonly called in English reliable sources, albeit not as commonly as the preferred-but-ambiguous title." Only if that fails do we use "Parenthetical disambiguation, i.e. adding a disambiguating term in parentheses after the ambiguous name: Wikipedia's standard disambiguation technique when none of the other solutions lead to an optimal article title." Saturday Night Fever: The Original Movie Sound Track is the official name of the album, and is commonly used: [1], [2], [3], [4], [5], [6], [7], [8], [9], [10], [11], [12], etc. There are variations, such as Saturday Night Fever: The Original Movie Soundtrack, but most use Saturday Night Fever: The Original Movie Sound Track which is the wording on the album. Given that we prefer natural titles over disambiguation by parenthesis, and that the above move was made under the assumption that the full title was rarely used (or perhaps it was rarely used in 2013), the title should be moved back to Saturday Night Fever: The Original Movie Sound Track. "Parenthetical disambiguation is suitable when natural disambiguation doesn't lead to an optimal article title." The wording missed out is "when none of the other solutions...". The official and widely used title is our first solution and should only be replaced when there is good reason to. That the original and widely used title meets our naming policy and does not clash with any other title, means that it is the most appropriate or optimal. We should only replace such titles when there is a genuine problem. WP:ALBUMDAB says "Only when necessary, disambiguation should be done using "(band)", "(album)", or "(song)" ". Here is a case where it's not necessary. We are taking away the official part of the name "The Original Movie Sound Track" and replacing it with our own version of "(soundtrack)" on the assumption that people would find typing out the extra three words too onerous. But, looking at the stats, 75 people a day do it, which is over one fifth of the average daily total of 398 viewers, even though there are over 500 direct click links using Saturday Night Fever (soundtrack) so many viewers would not be typing anything. It would be interesting to see how many readers type in "Saturday Night Fever (soundtrack)", because there is no optimal reason why they should, as that is not the name of the article they are looking for. And they might wonder why they are arriving at an article which Wikipedia is calling "Saturday Night Fever (soundtrack)" even though as the first line makes clear, it is about "Saturday Night Fever: The Original Movie Sound Track". Stats aren't only everything. There is not enough time to change the links that they click on because changing it manually is slow and such. I could use a semi-automated software to do the job if you want me to change the links. You don't think most readers are interested in mostly the title, do you? I don't think they mind with the present title as much as searching for the soundtrack, which is the subject of the article. Also, many, if not most, people use AutoComplete to search for the soundtrack, and this is what they found. Unless there may be another soundtrack of the same name, a subtitle wouldn't be necessary. Oppose – Too long, cumbersome and redundant. Unlikely to be the common name for the topic. Per George Ho previously, "Very few or [only a] couple of sources use the whole current title." While it may be possible to find a significant number of sources that use the long official name, that seems highly unlikely to be the common name in general use. Writing and recording section narrative has a gap[edit]
