Duncan Galloway[edit]

I'm an astrophysicist and Associate Professor in the School of Physics and Astronomy at Monash University in Victoria, Australia. My research is primarily on X-ray studies of accreting binaries consisting of a neutron star orbiting a main-sequence donor star, as well as searches for gravitational waves and electromagnetic counterparts from rapidly-rotating and merging neutron stars. Previously Centenary Fellow at the University of Melbourne, and postdoctoral associate at the MIT Kavli Institute for Astrophysics and Space Research (formerly the Center for Space Research) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where I was working with the RXTE and Chandra HETG groups. PhD from the University of Tasmania in 2000. Before that an oceanographer at the Australian Institute of Marine Science in Townsville, QLD
