Googling gets some hits, but most/all? are not about a specific genre. If the term is in use, it seems to apply only to the band HIM, who had an album called Love Metal. Tuf-Kat 23:00, Dec 9, 2004 (UTC)

  • Delete: Idiosyncratic subgenre label/neologism. (And I remember, in my own days on stage, that we hated labels and tried to say, "It's rock and roll" to any critic who asked us.) Geogre 01:41, 10 Dec 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete or redirect to HIM. I haven't heard Lovemetal being used about anything other than HIM. Jeltz 13:13, 2004 Dec 10 (UTC)
  • Marginal Keep. It's clearly a stub, and that could use some work, but there's a small bit of a case for the genre as something beyond HIM: there was a "Love Metal" tour in the U.S. of three bands including HIM (the others were Auf der Maur and Monster Magnet). I don't know if MM counts as love metal, though...
Other question: Have any bands other than HIM identified as "love metal"? I think that would make a convincing case. If not, then perhaps it should be delete-and-redirected. EventHorizon 07:05, 11 Dec 2004 (UTC)
