The Criticism section needs work. 203.215.118.11 04:21, 4 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

On that note, anyone else think the term "lambasted" is a little strong? Most of the reviews I see here [1] are between 80-90%, which is pretty good. 68.54.120.12 23:01, 29 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Lurtz[edit]

The link in his name leads to a list of Orcs in the series...that doesn't actually contain his name. I'd like to remove the link since it's misleading, but it would be infinitely better if someone with knowledge of him added him to the list. ENSSB (talk) 22:38, 5 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Game Box Picture[edit]

Does someone else have a newer version of the Game Box, perferbly without the RP rating?--SirNuke 00:06, 23 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I do! But the game itself won't work. --D-hyo 15:19, 11 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

MENTION EA_SPOUSE

Gameplay[edit]

Can you control individual characters in this game or can you only control individual units? Does the game have hack and slash, or is it just about strategy? Scorpionman 16:52, 3 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You control individuals and it's about strategy.--D-hyo 15:21, 11 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, you only control heroes (i.e. named characters) indiviadally, as well as certain larger units such as trolls - all other types are controlled as units. Ygoloxelfer 13:17, 19 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Gondorians?[edit]

I don't think the word "Gondorians" was ever used in The Lord of the Rings. It's usually "Men of Gondor" or something similar. So shouldn't it be changed?

PS if you do find "Gondorians" in LOTR tell me in what chapter!

- As far as I know it's not in the books, however it is used in the game interchangeably with "Men of Gondor".

Narration[edit]

It is said that the narration of the campaign of good is done by Ian Mc Kellen as Gandalf. Is it so? I have the spanish version of the game, and such narrations are done by a female voice. It isn't the voice of the spanish traduction of Galadriel (well, none of the voice actors seem to be the same), but I guess it's supposed to be her. But one thing is for sure: it isn't the wizard

What happens then in the english version? Is it narrated by Gandalf indeed, and the spanish version took the huge liberty of replacing his narration by that of another character? Or is the current mention a mistake, and the narration is done by Galadriel? --Perón 03:20, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

To my knowledge from playing the game, the narration is indeed done by Gandalf. However, I never bothered to do the whole campaign, so...--Clyde (talk)
In the entire campaign, the narration is done by Gandalf. It is not a mistake, and EA most likely didn't bother to find a male to do the Spanish narration. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Jasnator (talkcontribs) 01:30, 26 February 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Battle for middle earth catapaults on minas tirith.jpg[edit]

Image:Battle for middle earth catapaults on minas tirith.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 22:56, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Spelling[edit]

Moby Games has the second 'e' in 'Middle-Earth' capitalized. Which is correct? SharkD 00:37, 5 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Demo[edit]

Why wasn't a demo released for this game? It was for the sequel, but not this one. I was pretty disappointed about that especially because my computer cannot handle the second one, so have no idea whether the first one is something my computer *can* handle and is worth buying. And from what I can remember, some others felt disappointed as well. I think it's worthy of a mention in the article. -- WiccaIrish (talk) 09:39, 6 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Worldbuilder[edit]

Should there be a section on the Worldbuider Tool? Just wondering.--10000 Walls (talk) 10:07, 3 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please go ahead and add it in yourself, if you can! Haven't used it myself. Spiritaway5177 (talk) 04:56, 4 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

images[edit]

Can anyone please add more images this article? It looks totally crap to be honest. KeeperOfTheKeys (talk) 22:16, 26 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
