Untitled[edit]

I'm not convinced by the translation. There are repeated references on the web to sarpo laggo translating as Yellow Mountains. The glacier was discovered by an expedition led by Francis Younghusband, which could explain the confusion. Grutness|^hello? 11:47, 20 Jan 2005 (UTC)

I'm removing the "disputed" tag because there are several references about the glacier on the web as well as on wikipedia, like this one: Muztagh Tower.Waqas.usman 11:39, 18 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I am also unconvinced by the translation. Younghusband himself wrote:

"Next day we continued down the valley of the Oprang (Shaksgam) River, till we came to another, which my Baltis called the Sarpo Laggo, flowing down from the main range and joining it on the left bank." ^[1]

According to H. Adams Carter the meaning in Balti is:

"Sarpo Laggo (Serpo Laggo): Serpo (yellow) + laggo (pass)" ^[2]
